    The Phục-Linh Realm
    Where we find our Extended Divine Family.

    Before I continue to explain about our progress on the Path to Eternal Life, I would like to impart to you some advice on the method of presenting a dharma talk, a dharma talk that is, speaking of the Dao.

     

    For nearly two years I have been looking for a way for the entire Holy Body of the Supreme Being to preach our teachings. We all know that it is essential to teach humanity for their salvation. Because of this preaching it makes the essential truth a reality; that is the essential truth of the Supreme Being.

     

    There is one thing we pay attention to regarding this teaching and that is we need an objective for the spirit of the readers to pay attention to us; and so we must hold the spirit banner so that we can concentrate on our philosophical discoursing.

     

    I have seen one thing that should be rectified, there is a person who goes up to the stage, they are going to speak on the subject of the South, when they preach they start talking about the North which is not a part of our topic. It is no different an example than when I said that I am determined to go to Saigon and all the people look to the direction of Saigon but when I start to go, I walk in the direction of Phnom Penh. People would not understand this at all. Therefore when the discourse is complete people may have listened, but they did not understand at all. When you preach prosody is a requirement. It must be melodious and profound; it is not a case of simply saying what you want to say. A discourse is like a poem, it must have a subject, prosody, stress and metre, and there must be an introduction, middle and conclusion; we must keep in accord with the prosody of the teaching.

     

    The Supreme Being has taught us much about prosody, and of teaching carefully, Cao Thượng Phẩm and myself had practiced for two to three months, when Cao Thượng Phẩm went up onto the stage to preach and I remained in the audience to listen, we had to practice, without practicing we would have been unable to do it. We cannot avoid following the prosody of Tang Dynasty poetic conventions, we can not simply speak without rules. Besides prosody there are Phù-Tỷ, Hứng-Thú ; we must learn these by heart. A good speech is preached within rules, melody, literary style and with eloquence. Your talk should not be lacking in these things.

     

    -          Tỷ is a method of talking where, when we go up on stage, you; “Quan-Tiền Vũ -Hậu” which means you have to utilize stories from the past and the present in order to explain and highlight noble and lofty arguments.

    -          Hứng is a method of talking when we go up on stage and we step into the situation and, recognize the phenomenon of the earthly world. Our words must match this situation appropriate to its dimensions, thus we can highlight the whole form of the Dao in the temporal and relate them closely. Our discourse will be appropriate because we are inspired by the natural atmosphere; it depends on how we preach, for we must explain clearly for our audience to understand completely.

     

    Now, from the whole of our Tông Đường (I speak of our spiritual family) it is our brothers and sisters who guide us to a realm which is Cung Phục Linh. Friends, you know that there are numerous, countless spirits, if it is like this earthly world, when we use language to communicate, it is terribly noisy, but this is not necessary, it is extra-ordinary political system. So as I continue to explain further we shall then see an extra-ordinary political system; one which we are unable to imagine.

     

    The language in that realm can only be made through thinking, and communication is a spiritual communication, whatever you think of, just as suddenly you have it, for example, if I want to go over there, then people would instantly understand that I would like to be over there. The other souls also think in place of talking, thinking replaces language. We have seen those countless numbers of souls who are familiar to us, loving and close to us, at that door we never see a person who hates us or who is not friendly towards us; there is one thing you brothers and sisters must remember, this is what you have to remember. It is so much.

     

    I will explain that it will influence our lives when we are about to enter this door (to the Cung Phục Linh), those brothers and sisters in our spiritual family remind us that before we enter this door we should not ever be afraid, and we must remain calm and cool, for if there is something changes in us then we should not be afraid or flinch, or be deterred, even if we are told beforehand that when we enter we will become insane and be struck dumb. As you enter you are overcome by ignorance and you don’t know what it is or where you are, you don’t know anything until you awake and see a Buddha. He who holds the Kim Câu. He stands in front of the souls that enter, and also you will see   Hộ-Pháp who, with a mystical gesture of the hands (Bắt Ấn), in order to safeguard our soul. This Buddha is not unfamiliar to us; he is no other than, Phục Linh Tánh Phật. He hold the Kim Câu or mystical staff which he uses to manifest each of our former lives and we see them resurrected in front of us. Every time he waves this staff then we see another life, eventually we see every life we have been. We go back from the level of Đại Hồi (Monad) to the level of Tiểu Hồi (Ego) and from there to part of the material world, because all of us are impure souls (hoá nhân) none of us on this planet earth are pure souls (nguyên nhân). The pure souls which we (they) have attained the Dao in the Third Transition and the rest who are the hoá nhân (man of impure soul) transform from material.

     

    I would like to point out that Maitreya Buddha who is now holding the power of the universe, in the Seventh Transition at that time this planet earth was not yet sloughed of its skin. At the time of the last judgment, Maitreya Buddha was just a monkey. This monkey was a servant of Sakyamuni Buddha; and at the time Sakyamuni Buddha was a black rural dweller. The next three transitions takes us to the Third Transition in the middle of this transition Sakyamuni Buddha achieved the level of Bodhisattva, after this point Sakyamuni was able to become a Buddha.

     

    Maitreya is preparing to enter buddhahood this time. He holds the power in order to enter the level of Buddha. If I said Sakyamuni Buddha who came to this earthly world, the 68th planet earth, which at the time was not yet sloughed of its ski, that Sakyamuni Buddha who has transformed his nature gradually. Therefore the totality of his life on this planet earth is about 1500 000 000 years.

     

    When we enter the Cung Phục Linh, we must go backward, go back and down until we get to the material level. At that time when we enter into our original soul, it seems as though this soul is still living in the domain of the material.

     

    In a moment I will lead you into the Cung Ngọc Hư where the Divine Beings communicate with us. The Being who reigns at the Huỳnh Kim Khuyết this is Ngọc Hoàng Thượng Đế (Jade Emperor Supreme Being) or also Đại Thiên Tôn (Most respectful and Greatest of Beings in Heaven). He holds two positions, Ngọc Hoàng Thượng Đế and Đại Thiên Tôn.

     

    To summarize, when we are Phục Linh (resuscitated) we become accomplished, we then see the whole universe as our friend and our lover, and souls are many, standing noisily in front of us, but none of them are strange to us because all the souls have the same foundation and the same virtue. That is the secret of the universe.

     

    When I explain the path up to the Cung Phục Linh there is a point where we loose our spirit and we see that we are nearly reaching the end of what we should call the “new-born” path. When we are “new-born” we know nothing. Alive we were once ignorant and when we die we become ignorant again. It is from this ignorance that we are revived. This is both the mystery and the secret, if we do not loose our consciousness then we would know our previous lives. Whenever we are able to calm our spirit then we realize, as people often say, we become ignorant because we drink the soup of forgetfulness (cháo lú). When we enter the Cung Phục Linh and we do not loose our consciousness then we know of our life, and cannot continue to live, and so we must die. This is the secret. When we resurrect ourselves we then see the Creator of the Universe who is the Jade Emperor-Supreme Being, the  Đại Thiên Tôn is reigning from the Ngọc Hư Cung, He seems to be inviting us to come over to this place, to come over in order to unite with this Being, one must step forward in order to see him, even our Tông Đường and our friends will hold our hands at this stage and ask us not to go, but our soul will still struggle to get to the Ngọc Hư Cung, and so we do.

     

    Now we arrive at the Cung Ngọc Hư. This is the place which holds the political power of the Universe. There are no stars, no suns in this universe that are not under the control of the Ngọc Hư Cung.

     

    The power that governs the earthly world is in the image of the Cửu Trùng Đài that is a thing that people imagine differently. Does it govern anyone? I have explained that the soul governs the self and the Ngọc Hư Cung only conserves and blesses us. This place does not “govern” it only blesses because it wants these souls sanctified, often they are not blessed because of the results of their life… Governing this realm is a Buddha who holds the karmic lives of each being, this Buddha is not very severe, there are many souls who know that their karmic accounts are very heavy, because of this they no longer want to live, the karmic results of life however are so vitally essential so the Divine Beings can only lessen the results of our karmic accounts, they also seek ways to mitigate any penalties.

     

    In the Cung Hiệp Thiên Hành Hóa the main point is to let the offender be their own judge. In this way they wake up to themselves in order to locate the karmic account of their lives with less power in order to determine their own punishment. There are here then, two things opposite each other, the offender being judged, who is determining their own punishment. The being representing the governing power is only there to protect that soul’s happiness and decrease the sentence. This is what is meant by “governing the political power of the universe” it means holding the power in order to give merit and decrease the sentences (that we would bestow on ourselves) yet not to accuse us, and they are not there to pronounce a sentence upon us. To confirm the sentence or not, this is up to us for we are our own judge, even if we had a lawyer here, we still would not be able to pass. The Cung Hiệp Thiên Hành Hóa is a place where we incriminate ourselves and we cannot avoid it. This is the political system of the universe therefore when we arrive and then enter the Cung Hiệp Thiên Hành Hóa in case we had caused a great deal of sin in our life then it seems that the Divine Beings who reign there are worried, they worry but we do not, on the contrary, they worry for us, they worry that we will pronounce too onerous a sentence upon ourselves.

     

    Therefore the Ngọc Hư Cung is a place where the souls of the universe are comforted. They hold power in the universe to guide and protect, but not to govern. Souls govern themselves, you friends must remember this. You, brothers and sisters must especially understand this secret in order to reawaken yourself. While we are still on this earthly world we must judge, control and punish ourselves in advance. We should rule ourselves now in order that later, when our soul ascends, we are not so upset, and then later on we will not incriminate ourselves so heavily, although we might pretend, we should learn to rule ourselves, there is no need to be afraid, as the Supreme Being uses the term “repent” this term is so beautiful; in order that we do not have to rule ourselves this is the right of the Ngọc Hư Cung as such.  

      

    Bắt Ấn  - a mystical gesture of the hand s.

     

    Cao Thượng Phẩm  - His Holiness Cao Quỳnh Cư. Thượng Phẩm is the leader of the Spiritual Realm helping the Cửu Trùng Ðài to abide in an atmosphere of contentment; he reveals the Heavenly Voice to virtuous souls, and guides them towards their Divine Place among the Great Spirits. At the same time while he closes behind them the Door of spiritual regression. The leader of the Spiritual Realm symbolises the Holy Doctrine (The Dao). Wherever the Heart of the Eternal exists the Thượng Phẩm can be found. He is concerned with the religion’s meditation cells and the temples and churches of the faith. He supervises all disciples and defends them against abuse by the authorities.

      

    Cháo lú  - the soup of forgetfulness .

     

    Cung Ngọc Hư - belongs to the Hư Vô Heaven. This is the Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law which controls and keeps the Divine Law. It also controls the progress and movement of the universe.

     

    Cung Phục Linh - Phục-Linh Realm.

     

    Cửu Trùng Ðài - , Palace of nine divine planes , Palace of nine degrees of the evolution, Palace of nine degrees of the Episcopal Hierachy.

     

    Dao - Đạo (Vietnamese) , - Dao , Tao (Chinese) , the Way.

     

    Đại Hồi  - Universal Monad.

     

    Đại Thiên Tôn  - Most respectful and Greatest of Beings in Heaven.

     

    Hoá nhân  - impure souls . The man of impure soul, the evolutionary being.

     

    Huỳnh Kim Khuyết - , the gate of pure gold where one enter the palace where the Supreme Being holds meetings with the Heavenly Council .

     

    Kim Câu  - 金鉤   Kim Câu is a special and mystical staff of Thái Thượng Lão Quân who is Head of Daoism. It is used to direct the Immortals. It is a golden miter of Thái Thượng Lão Quân who is the Master of Daoism. He uses this miter to direct and control the immortals. He who holds this golden miter is representative of this Master and all who follow him must obey its instructions.

    Ngọc Hoàng Thượng Đế - Jade Emperor Supreme Being.

     

    Ngọc Hư Cung - Heavenly Council of Eternal Law , The Court of God, The Council of

    God , Divine Jade Palace.

     

    Nguyên nhân - pure souls. The man of pure soul.

     

    Phục Linh – to resuscitate your former lives for your soul to examine them.

     

    Phục Linh Tánh Phật  –  The Buddha who  holds the Kim Câu or golden and mystical miter which He uses to manifest each of our former lives and we see them resurrected in front of us. Every time he waves this staff we see another life, eventually we see every life we have been.

     

    Quan-Tiền Vũ -Hậu - which means you have to utilize stories from the past and the present in order to explain and highlight noble and lofty arguments.

     

    Tiểu Hồi – Ego.

     

    Tông Đường - literally ones ancestral temple. The Hộ Pháp also uses this term to refer to our wider spiritual family whom we meet in returning to heaven. It is our Spiritual clan or spiritual extended family or even spiritual lineage.

    The Method of Governing the Universe
    Lies in How We Govern Ourselves

    Today we invite each other to progress along this Divine Path to Eternal Life.

     

    Dear Celestial Hierarchies of the Hiệp Thiên Đài (Legislative Body), Cửu Trùng Đài (Executive Body), male and female believers and senior officials, since the time I began explaining to you your progress on the Path to Eternal Life it is essential that to put these ideas into your brain and through your nerves, from the time we have started, we have spoke of many things so that you would be able to keep your mind open. Although I am sure we have not yet reached a critical situation.

     

    Know that I am only holding your hands so that I can take you into that realm where you can observe yourself and discover your true self much more easily. I am afraid that these sermons will not help you understand completely. We see and remember so we can enter the realm and in this way it becomes reality. The Supreme Being only wants all his children to see the Truth. He does not want His children to see merely an illusion of His truth. His Truth will never tolerate such illusions. If the meditation hall is not opened yet it is not my fault. Only concerning the exoteric it takes 24 years of a hard life with broken hearts and minds from youth until grey-headedness and we have still not finished 6 or 7 out of the 10 (stages). Honestly, I can say, that one does not have to slave like this, but this is what I have done.

     

    To find out, to discover this situation, it is not my duty to do this, but I had to and sometimes it made me very sad and I sometimes I would have liked to have given up. But looking back, when I saw the children of the Supreme Being lost without anyone to guide them, though I may have wanted to give up I did not. In a life that can undertake difficulties, how can I abolish that part of me which is spirit.

     

    I would like to continue to explain our progress and guide us to go out of the Nam Tào, Bắc Đẩu. When you come to see that Divine Book Without Words (Vô Tự Kinh) then you will understand the foundation of life and our karmic lives. Our foundation in life and each of our lives are analysed and understood at this place.

     

    And now if we would like to preach correctly and have an appropriate topic, then the sermons must have Kinh (Sacred books), Điển (ancient books) and Luật (law). The Kinh are the Four Books of Confucianism, Điển are the Five Classics and the Luật is the law of governing the world from ancient until modern times. And so we can use these for prosody in order to make our sermon. We must have our own prosody so we have to study hard. It is not an easy thing to do, but we have to do it in order to replace the language of the Supreme Being and put His truth into the spirit of humanity. If we cannot do this then we make the Supreme Being mute!!! We have to do this in order to replace His language, if we cannot do it we cannot speak in His place.

     

    From now on Bần Đạo will be more rigorous, more strict, sit quietly and listen, if you are found to be speaking nonsense then you will suffer the consequences, it is nearly two years [that we have been speaking] so you will not be forgiven if you are found talking nonsense. If you are punished do not say that you were not warned that this part would be difficult or that the punishment would not be carried out.

     

    Today Bần Đạo will continue to explain the politics of the universe. Previously Bần Đạo has already asked where does the power for those who govern the universe come from? The method of governing the universe is in fact the power of self control; we control ourselves. Humanity governs itself. The universe is vast sea, it is boundless, if we make laws and determine our own power, then what sort of power would we be able to hold? Of the whole motion of the universe the most particular is the secret mystery of each individual, that is, the individual who can control the self. In this way, we attain boundless secrets and so the judgement of the Supreme Being, this is the case for the soul that can govern itself.

     

    Bần Đạo has said the sentence cannot be rejected, the guilt cannot be argued, because one governs oneself. One makes, in the end, one’s own judgement and determine one’s own punishment. Therefore who can refuse or make their words reject their own faults? This is the most abiding power of the universe.

     

    The individual controls the self and the politics of the universe does not sway from this essential point. There is only one point of difference. The infinite mystery of the Supreme Being and his heavenly council exist and do so to determine the motions and events of the universe. But this has no value at all if each individual takes up the opportunity of governing the self. Each soul has the right to govern itself and this is why the political system has become stable and strong (in this divine method it is stable and nothing can challenge it). And now we can see that the governing system is stable, and the whole spirit of the universe is at one so that we are able to govern ourselves.

     

    Bần Đạo has said that the most suffering we worry about is seeing our spiritual family punished. That is, seeing them punished in the realm of eternal life because of what we have done wrong. On the Divine Path to Eternal Life our relatives in this spiritual realm bear our shame and they are mocked and criticized because of us, and because of us they are threatened and abandoned in the realm of eternal life and so loose their status. This is the thing that most concerns us. Therefore Bần Đạo would like to point out that the true physiognomy of the universe, that is, the truth of the universe. Can we attain that truth? Yes we can.

     

    Bần Đạo only wants to say that all can see is how our Vietnamese race, that is the civilization of China, came first to develop the organization of tools. Bần Đạo has said that this planet earth has reincarnated backward and it has already passed through three transitional periods. Its previous lives have allowed it to reach its seventh transition and its previous physical forms were destroyed and it was transformed, this planet earth has arrived at its third transition, when it arrives at the seventh transition it will be destroyed again. Or the other possibility is that it will be transferred back to its third transition. The first four transitions have created gorillas and the black races.

     

    During the first transition, beings act only to protect themselves or they might gather together in small groups for mutual protection. At this time animals are more powerful than humans therefore mutual protection was the only human concern.

     

    The second transition leads to the period of craft. At this stage humans sought a method of independence. It was a time of gathering together in order to fashion weapons. Tribes would gather with other tribes in their struggle against wild animals. The mechanism of the divine plan at the time was crude. In the second transition, humans were not settled and there were many kinds of pest and plague and there were many things which could have destroyed humanity. To this extent, humans had to strongly defend themselves and in doing this they needed to develop armies, weapons and other things that helped in self defence, this is the period of craft.

     

    In the third transition societies are formed. And these started to develop different races and society, but what is a society? It is a reflection of the spiritual politics. Just think and find the truth, at this moment the third transition is over and so starts the first part of the fourth transition (which has three parts). This is the period where humanity unites together, all of them on this planet earth, so developing the doctrine of great harmony. Humanity has displayed on this planet earth a stable political system so that there can be unity. This is a beginning that creates a polity of unified harmony for humanity. Thus China has gained this secret law (Bí Pháp), the various great families of China the Lưu, the Trần, the Lý, each of these families have their own (heavenly) family in order to govern themselves. To this extent, the Emperor rarely faced trouble when governing the people because a member of any group who was found guilty discovered that the whole group had to be accountable to the Emperor for his or her actions. Therefore the political system of ancient China was stable, strong and extraordinary, if it has failed it is because the Chinese have disregarded that which is ancient and now turn to the modern. This destroys the precious and durable traditional political system. This is the same for the method of governing the universe. And Vietnam is the race of China, of the Chinese and so we already had the political system that reflected these heavenly families. If we would like the people to unite with suitable harmony then at least our great families must be united starting firstly from the small details and then leading to the bigger picture.

     

    This is the seed of the union of the Tông Đường (or great spiritual family) therefore Bần Đạo  advises the Charity Body to re-establish the Tông Đường as it was in ancient times. This is the secret law towards the desire for great harmony, and so it should effect the political organization of Vietnam. This is a fundamental point which is needed now even more than before.

      

    Bí Pháp - Secret Dharma, the esoteric (or occult) teaching/the esoteric doctrine.

     

    Cửu Trùng Đài - literally means the nine-sphere palace. The Executive Body of Caodaism which takes charge of the administration of the Religion and its missionary activities. It also refers to the Temple of Nine Degrees of Evolution or Nine Spheres Palace.  - .  The palace of nine divine planes, or the Palace of nine degrees of evolution. The Palace of nine degrees of the Episcopal Hierachy.

     

    Điển -, ancient books.

     

    Hiệp Thiên Đài -  literally means the Temple of the Divine Alliance, The Heavenly-Union Palace. The Legislative Body which has the duty of communicating with the occult/esoteric power to receive divine messages, to preserve the religious laws and listen to the complaints of the unhappy, in order to symbolize equality in the Religion.

     

    Kinh - sacred books.

     

    Luật - law.

     

    Nam Tào & Bắc Đẩu - Nam Tào & Bắc Đẩu are the two Immortals who are in charge the registration of the birth and death of human beings on the earth. Nam Tào who is in charge the registration of birth and Bắc Đẩu who is in charge the registration of death.

    The Secret Dharma that Liberates the Self

    Today Bần Đạo continues to explain about our desire to advance along the Path to Eternal Life. I have noted that after worship all of us are tired. We find it difficult to sustain our concentration for a long sermon. Additionally, when preaching and repeating and emphasizing the same point, it becomes difficult for you to listen properly because listening for long periods can make you equally exhausted. Because of this, you must know that I only preach for a reasonable amount of time. If I went on, these sermons would descend into nonsense. But if on the other hand I preached too concisely then the topic would not be adequately addressed. This is why I must make these talks an appropriate length. In this way all the children of the Supreme Being will not be tired but remain content to listen. Tonight, however, Bần Đạo might be excused for preaching a little longer and for taking some extra time because of the nature of our topic. Forgive me, if you are tired, I shall excuse you.

     

    Last time I explained how we enter the Cung Phục Linh (Phục Linh Realm). Tonight Bần Đạo will explain this process in a little more depth. This is because today’s sermon contains a secret key to the dharma of our liberation. I want to let you understand in advance the mechanism of the mysteries of the secret dharma of the Supreme Being which guides this process of liberation. Because of this, I hope that you will remain attentive.

     

    Bần Đạo has explained on previous occasions that when we enter the Cung Phục Linh we relive in a reverse manner our previous lives. This is because the Phục Linh Buddha maintains and preserves our original soul by ranging back through our previous lives. While this is being done our Pineal Eye / Crown Chakra (Thượng Nê Hườn) [Fontanel] is protected and stabilized by the Hộ Pháp. When he does “Bắt Ấn”, or stands guard over the forces about us, our souls are stabilized and guarded. When we remain at the Cung Phục Linh we sometimes do reprehensible things as we attempt to shun the memory of our previous lives.

     

    Our souls have travelled in order to enter the Self and experience this rush backwards through this account of previous lives. It could be that we have lived through ten thousand million lives from the rank of the material to that of a human being. We face so many lives, in fact, that the longer the foundation of our soul’s time, the more lives we have to pass through. When we die and we are reborn, this mysterious mechanism of the universe drives us to enter our Original Soul.

     

    This soul has examined itself on innumerable instances where the karmic results of the life just finished increases our general karmic account, thus the soul estimates as one might judge a sinner. Therefore Bần Đạo tells you that individuals are their own judges and with the utmost seriousness we make our judgments. When we judge ourselves there is no one who makes excuses for us. I have also told you that the sentence that we pass cannot be ameliorated, our sins cannot be repudiated, and the law cannot be avoided. How can we avoid the law if we are our own judges? This is how our soul judges itself. Our Original Soul owns all the results of all our previous lives. And in this self judgment process, I ask again, who will make excuses for us?

     

    Do not despair, there is a method by which can make appeals on our own behalf, but yet we do not know about this. We can take the role of our own lawyer and try to make an appeal for ourselves but only while we are living through our ten thousands million lives, and only if we recognize the mistakes that we have made now. When we do this our soul is able to make appeal on our own behalf. If this happens then the day will come when we will not need to penalize ourselves perpetually. Therefore, there is a method of expiating punishment for those sublime souls who attain the Way, they passed on the True dharma, a Law which is very simple, and which can be used by humanity but humans do not seek out the essential point of this Law and so they do not find a way towards liberation. This is the method of (Nhứt Nhựt Tam Tỉnh Hộ Thân), just as each day you must make at least one visit to your parents, so you must also examine your conscience three times.

     

    Ask yourself about those sins that you have committed in just one life, the Supreme Being has left for you a method of liberation. He has said, “on this earth your sins are plentiful, but if at the end of your life you know how to call out the name of your Divine Master then He will come to save you.” The Divine Master has brought this Secret Dharma of liberation and placed it in your hands so that the soul can attain the true dharma of liberation. To call the name of the Divine Master that is “Nam Mô Cao Đài Tiên Ông Đại Bồ Tát Ma Ha Tát”

     

    We have seen, and Bần Đạo has preached to you, that when our soul manifests then it has the same nature of the universe, that is the same nature as the Supreme Being and that is how it attains the Way.

     

    The universe is a place that produces beings within it and these beings have the same nature as each other. This is why each being has the right to liberate itself. Therefore to call the name of the Supreme Being is to access the mechanism of liberation. It does not matter how much sin a soul accumulates on this planet, even if we are full of sin we have this hope; that at the end of our lives we understand we must call on the name of the Supreme Being, that is, we know we must call on our Original Soul. This way we can refuse our right to be our own judge. And that is how the end of our life will come. If we refuse to be our own judge then who is it who stands in to punish us?

     

    The Supreme Being is the great proprietor of all. So if we leave the karmic result of our lives in his hands, now who will judge us? This is the mechanism of liberation and of attaining the Way.

     

    Now let us try. Bần Đạo has said, “…when the soul is manifests it seems that there is an eternal power which directs it to the Supreme Being. This is because the universe has the same hidden virtue and it manifests from out of the mysterious and secret mechanism of the cosmos. Because these two things have the same nature and the same spiritual source, that of the Creator of the Universe, it follows that each knows the other.”

     

    I am sure that, in fact I know that, this planet has up to 3, 000, 000, 000, beings. This figure is so huge, can we really know how many human beings, I am of course calculating this planet 68, it is the smallest, but human beings on this planet, are more than 2, 700, 000, 000!

     

    In the Universe there are up to 3, 000, 000, 000 planets so how many human beings does that make? Just imagine the Supreme Being holding the Complete Power over all this. He holds the power of judgment. When He blesses or increases our merits He is called Ngọc Hoàng Thượng Đế (Jade Emperor). Whenever he diminishes our sins He is called Đại Thiên Tôn (The Most Respectful and Highest Position in Heaven). God is Supreme this is self-evident. Because on our planet from the material level up to the level of humanity are filled with souls then everything in the cosmos has this Being at the centre of their lives. The soul survives just as our physical body strives to live. If our eyelash is irritating us do our senses feel this? Or if our finger is grazed do we feel pain? In the Universe whatever we do, or do not do, this Supreme Being knows wherever we are. He knows our position instantly and completely, because His physical body is the mechanism of liberation. This is the great secret.   

     

    Now, I would like to explain to you the site of the Ngọc Hư Cung (The Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law) When we are fortunate enough to enter together with the Divine Beings (in this place) then we will realize our pre-destined role.

     

    I have said, “when we arrive and stand outside (of this palace), especially when we arrive at the Cung Phục Linh (Palace of the returning Souls) we see many magnificent buildings illuminated as are gems in the centre of the sky. When we enter inside we see nothing but halos. Lifting up our heads you will see the Universe, it is so blue as it stretches in front of us. It is like when we stand at the Bát Quái Đài. We then see the Spiritual Beings in their ranks. There is the Supreme Being reigns at the Huỳnh Kim Khuyết (The gate of pure gold, where one enters the Palace of the Supreme Being). When we look down we see that court that governs the world, we see it is a court which is limitless, most powerful, supreme…

     

    The Beings are so innumerable that we could never pass them. So how can the political system of the Universe hold its power with such stability? It is the same as our visible political system. What are their rights? What are the rights that come from holding power over the universe? It is to govern the bad. And this power is so simple.  In order to control the evil, the bad, this court does not need a judge. There is no prison to keep the offenders or lock up the criminals. And in wishing to reward the good it does not need a king. There is no need for rewards. There is no need for power, or for ranks that are higher or lower. They have no power at all because our souls decide their own sentences and punishments. In this way the political system of the universe is quite simple. The most difficult law is the law of punishments and rewards. But these two things are, here, not necessary. So, what is the political system of the universe actually for? It is to protect and preserve the universe by which I mean its duty is to serve those who have the rights of those who hold the political power of the universe - that is to serve all beings.

     

    The universe is for recording each sin and to serve the ten thousand beings. From the beginning of the worlds until now there is no kind of power which is so strange. There is no power which is incompatible with this. Therefore the secret of humanity is this visible image and being an animal on the earthly world which has an important and ultimately spiritual aim. They come in order to serve both humanity and all other beings of the visible realms. To serve in order to predetermine the course of our lives, this is why we have the doctrine of predestination. If we are capable of serving then we will also attain a position in this hierarchy. And if we are unable to serve then we fall to the status of a criminal.

     

    It is an organization of liberation, I stress, surely the organization of liberation of the Supreme Being which depends on our work which we dedicate to the ten thousand beings.                   

      

    Bần Đạo -  His Holiness Hộ Pháp Phạm Công Tắc refers to himself throughout as 'Bần Đạo' or 'poor monk'.

     

    Bắt Ấn  - a mystical gesture of the hands.

     

    Bí Pháp - Secret Dharma, the esoteric (or occult) teaching/the esoteric doctrine.

     

    Cao Đài Tiên Ông Đại Bồ Tát Ma Ha Tát – the term that the Supreme Being uses to identify Himself in séances and the name that Caodaists use at the end of their prayers. It literally means: High Palace, Immortal, His Honor the Eldest Boddhisattva, the Venerable Saint. Caodaists believe that God the Father has no name. For this reason they prefer such terms as “the Most High”, “the Ultimate Being”, “the Absolute”.

     

    Cung Phục Linh - Phục Linh Realm. Palace of the returning Souls.

     

    Đại Thiên Tôn  - The Most Respectful and Highest Position in Heaven.

     

    Hộ Pháp - is the one who unveils the Mystery of the Invisible and is the Maintainer of the Rules and laws of the New Religion / Cao- Đài Religion. He is the one who pronounces judgments on the dignitaries and disciples, elevates the dignity of the fervent through their merit and brings sanctions against those who have committed faults. He is actively involved in assuring that the religious Rules and Laws which have become Divine Laws are carried out in detail, in order to keep the dignitaries and adepts free of the sufferings inflicted by the Lords of Karma.

     

    In so acting, he watches over the positive progress of the disciples in the Way of God, and guides all evolved souls to achieve the Divine Phase of the Great Spirits. He holds control over the Legislative Power both exoterically and esoterically.

     

    Huệ quang khiếu - celestial eye , sky door, crown chakra, pineal eye.

     

    Huỳnh Kim Khuyết  - The gate of pure gold, where one enters the Palace of the Supreme Being.

     

    Ngọc Hoàng Thượng Đế  - Jade Emperor.

     

    Nhứt Nhựt Tam Tỉnh Hộ Thân – (The Confucian idea that each day you must make at least one visit to your parents), or, more generally, you must examine your conscience three times per day.

     

    Phục Linh – to resuscitate your former lives for your soul to examine them.

     

    Phục Linh Tánh Phật  –  The Buddha who  holds the Kim Câu or golden and mystical miter which He uses to manifest each of our former lives and we see them resurrected in front of us. Every time he waves this staff we see another life, eventually we see every life we have been.

     

    Thượng Nê Hườn  - bai hui point (top of your head) , the crown point, pineal Eye , crown chakra.

    Linh-Tiêu- Điện (Ngọc Hư Cung)
    And the Governing Body of The Supreme Being

    Tonight I will continue to explain our progress on the Divine Path to Eternal Life. Last time I guided you good friends into the Linh Tiêu Điện/Ngọc Hư Cung (The Heavenly Court of God). Tonight I will continue, but before I do so, there are a few essential issues which I need to inform you about. Since the time that I have been preaching about that Esoteric Doctrine, I have always prayed to the Supreme Being. This is because there are many difficult issues that we encounter. These things we have seen by the spiritual eye but we can only explain them with the human tongue and we can never be sure that we are describing them precisely.  I confess that for every 10 things I know I need to explain to you, I can only really explain seven, five, or maybe even less. This is why I pray to the Supreme Being as Tripitaka did on his journeys to India seeking Buddhist scriptures. He was Chinese but of course the script was written in Sanskrit, so it was very hard to translate all the sutras from this original language into the Chinese. Therefore he maintained a great vow and he tried his best in order to translate these sutras into Chinese. He was sure that what he translated was not perfectly correct, so he promised that when he passed away if he had not explained the sutras clearly his tongue would be black. But if he had been able to explain the Scriptures perfectly, then when he died his tongue would be red.

     

    How fortunate for Northern Buddhism which was so greatly blessed by the work of Tripitaka. Of course, when he passed away, people opened his mouth and saw that his mouth was red. In this way the true teaching of Buddhism, that is, Northern Buddhism was explained clearly and perfectly by Tripitaka.

     

    Today, every time Bần Đạo ascends to the pulpit and is prepared to preach the Esoteric Doctrine, I pray first with the Supreme Being for clairvoyance. I do this even though I know I lack complete clarity of mind and that I remain unable to explain the visions of my spiritual eye in a perfect sermon.

     

    If the Supreme Being has especially blessed this Divine Faith of His, a faith which includes His spiritual body (The Sacerdotal Council), and grant a special clarity of mind to this body so that it can correct, support and help Bần Đạo, then things would be much more perfect.

     

    So, today I would like to continue to explain about how we enter the Linh Tiêu Điện. When we arrive at the threshold of this palace, we are at first stunned by its magnificence. I have already said that any architect who sees these buildings will continue dreaming about the beauty, magnificence and skill behind their forms and he would fear turning crazy and dying with nothing but these images on his mind.

     

    He would be unable to put their beauty from his mind, their impact would be so strong on his thinking that he would become crazy that they could never hope to rebuild such designs.

     

    The palaces are constructed of gems of 10 000 forms and sizes, whatever we want to imagine that is the image that then appears. The endless power of the Supreme Being has achieved its physiognomy formed by the 10 000 dharmas, it is the mysterious, endless and incomparable doctrine. Of these we are unable to describe them, and when we enter inside we see the Universe, vast like a great sea. We see it from its very top right down to its lowest depths. It is a court at which no words are able to describe so mysterious and solemn its nature. And at the highest of all we see the Supreme Being raised on his great throne surrounded by courtly attendants that is Huỳnh Kim Khuyết. Later I will describe his image to you.

     

    With the Huỳnh Kim Khuyết on His head, so far into the distance you will see the Three Buddhas. We have their statues here on the top of the Bát Quái Đài (the Eight Trigrams Palace), Brahma Buddha, Krishna Buddha and Shiva Buddha. And even further into the distance, so far we are unable to imagine, it is as though our eyes see a Nimbus flashing but there is no image we can perceive, yet it illuminates His whole court which is the Huỳnh Kim Khuyết. Under the Huỳnh Kim Khuyết is the Cửu Phẩm Thần Tiên (the nine levels of Geniis & Immortals) who attend the court. It is such a solemn and mysterious scene that we cannot imagine it. It is so mysterious that no tongue could tell it. If we have a good affinity with life and come to attain the Way and achieve a position in the heavenly hierarchy, even at a very low rank, we still could not describe this realm. And our Dharmakaya would still come to the level of attaining a Divine Position but if we look up and compare ourselves with the others we can understand that our position is not a great thing at all. If we look further and higher still our position really does look insignificant. And if we are demoted it is so heart breaking, we then see His court so far in the distance that, in fact, it disappears. We then feel so indifferent and unconcerned and unable to know where we are, or to what realm we belong, we stay there and undertake a vast amount of suffering. Nothing compares to this. What a pity it is that we may be demoted, the total of my sins appear in front of me, and I am unable to deny it. I am standing there and suffering and I must judge myself. After one judges the self then slowly, step-by-step one descends to the door of the earthly world. This is the door of hell. This is how we judge ourselves.

     

    And now the law court of the Cửu Phẩm Thần Tiên (nine levels of Genies & Immortals), which we have seen, when we develop an effective affinity with the aim of achieving a good position we cannot assume anything. We do, however, see those Divine Beings, so noble and so honourable, in fact, some of them come near to the Supreme Being and exist nearly on an equal footing with Him. These are the beings that have attained the mysteries, but we have seen those beings who are so honoured appear with the word “suffering”. Those beings have achieved the highest and most respectable positions because they could win out against suffering. They have attained their power because they have undertaken a vast amount of suffering throughout their innumerable lives. In this way they created their honourable positions. We look at the Supreme Being and we see the word “suffering” but He is also the universe because he has the power to master our suffering. Just image how is it that suffering can conquer us? Why is it that we cannot conquer it? It is because we lack the courage, and we lack the spirit that can undertake suffering. We are afraid of it, and so we do not know how to master suffering.                

     

    Some time ago I did not believe in the mysteries of the religion of the Supreme Being. I studied as every normal person did. I used my mind and my understanding in order to decide my thoughts and determine my actions. It took me a long while to understand the spiritual position of Sakyamuni Buddha, or Jesus Christ. It made me question things and left me in doubt. At that time the Supreme Being had great responsibility and this onerous task that He showed to me. He opened my eyes and at last I saw the actual physical presence of the Supreme Being.

     

    I have seen numerous consolations of God, they are boundless. We have undertaken in our lives so much suffering both physical and spiritual, birth upon birth, death upon death, in order to achieve our present position step-by-step. One step and we have obtained a noble position, but we always win and loose, we attain, and yet we see other people like birds we, it seems are but fishes.

     

    We do not have a special nor a sublime position, so we are behind other people by at least one level. Because there are people who are noble like birds while we remain ignoble - fish. These are not related at all so we look back to the image of the Supreme Being and we realize that our Great God does not say a word, there is no sound, but our spirit and His spirit seem related to each other. We see that He has endured much suffering and that we only undertake a part of it that great whole. How can we lament, how can we be discouraged? It is a suffering which our Divine Master has undertaken a million times. Therefore when we see His face the sadness and the suffering of our physical body and our spirit are offered some consolation.

     

    Why? Because the great power of the Supreme Being is a great mountain of suffering. His image in fact is one of endless suffering, yet because He takes on this suffering it is also a great store of bejewelled dharmas through which He can access this Mystery. In this way we are offered consolations after we are able to conquer our own.

     

    I am certainly sure of this fact: happy are those whose bodies are physically disgraced for their soul will gain an incomparable happiness. It is these people who have undertaken so much suffering in their life, who will be consoled by the Supreme Being.

     

    What happiness! Happiness goes to those who in their lives are oppressed, despised and disapproved of by others. For these people shall be brought by the Supreme Being into the position of extra-ordinary honour. These people will be helped and offered support by the hand of the Supreme Being. They will be honoured and raised to positions of authority.

     

    If we have enough courage and are able to undertake the suffering of the Supreme Being then we shall be able to source an unending supply of glory.           

     

    Bát Quái Đài - the Council of the Great Spirits which heads the Eight States of Soul, the Eight-sided Palace of God's presence, the Eight Trigrams Palace.

    The Difference between the Process of Rising through Heaven
    And the Process of Falling into Dark Realms

    Tonight I would like to continue to preach about our progress on this Divine Path to Eternal Life.

     

    Bần Đạo will preach a little bit more quickly so that we can finish this matter and have some time left to talk about the Secret Dharma. Last time I guided all the spirits of you the children of the Supreme Being towards the Linh Tiêu Điện (Ngọc Hư Cung). We have also seen that the Supreme Being appears embodied spiritually as the Dharmakaya of the Supreme Being; I mean by this, He takes the role of the Emperor of the Universe. That is not simply a Great Saint to us, but the image of the Greatest and most respectful Being in the Heavens. We can not see this because the Supreme Being does not want us to see Him. His Dharmakaya does not immediately appear to us with the status of Great Supreme Being. We cannot see this at the Linh Tiêu Điện (The Court of God). And I have already explained the status of authority as it is derived from the honourable nature of our various Tông Đườngs (or spiritual extended families) for those who attain the Way.

     

    What a pity it is that there is a sharp difference between the realm of ascent and the path of descent. Even those with strong hearts and much courage will still be afraid and nervous when I explain about the path of descent. The happiness which we have gained through our spiritual Tông Đường leaves us united amongst each other and they do not miss a single person. In order to observe our future and the determinations of our judgments, if we are able to obtain a position (in heaven’s hierarchy) then the path of our progress towards all happiness and virtue will occur, because the total spirit within the realm of our ascent will offer many hands to support and help us. What a pity! If we are guilty and are demoted then this honourable realm gradually fades away from us although we stand in the same spot. This amazingly happy scene recedes backwards and moves very far away from us until we cannot see it. Finally it flees from us; we do not run from it. Our happiness is thus wary of us, in this way is runs from us and gets away. Suddenly the path of our progress faces too many difficulties. Normally people say that heaven and hell, that is, Ngọc Hư Cung and the Ten Palaces of the Kings of Hell. They are not close to each other, these people say, but they are indeed close, and how strange this is. If we make a serious mistake, for example, if we kill a person in hatred then immediately that person will stand in front of us and look at us mournfully. People think that person might also hate us and want to kill us, but it is never like this, this person will be sad for us and sorrowful, when we see nothing but this person, our soul, which is our perispirit, depending on the crimes we have committed will regress step by step towards hell. In these scenes of our guilt, which we summon right at the very moment of our fall, the offender stands at the door of hell. It is then that we determine the judgment that we must pass upon ourselves.

     

    What sadness! Those who do not love each other, those who lack love, they will have no words of comfort from other souls. They only hear around them the sound of lamentations and accusations. They don’t know when they should pass judgment on themselves. Because we are bound to decide for ourselves, therefore we don’t know when our punishment is finished. This is why we suffer.

     

    Now and then I will explain these things to you. Because I am not allowed to go down to hell, the Supreme Being has promised that whenever I disincarnate, before returning to the real of Eternal Life, I will be allowed to go past hell in order to liberate those souls who have been unjustly punished. In order to help them ascend to the heavens.

     

    It has been explained to me by the Supreme Being and the Divine Beings what that realm is like. They have done this so that one day when I walk on that path I will see that there is nothing strange and nothing to fear. Whenever we obtain happiness and attain liberation that is the time that our Spiritual Family (Tông Đường) will be so happy and joyful on our behalf. The nine levels of Geniis, Immortals and Buddhas over three generations will be happy and joyful in a way that we cannot describe. It is a joy and an honour for which there is no ink nor words to describe.

     

    If we obtain a position in the heavenly hierarchy whether it is high or low we will see things very differently. As I have explained one is like a bird but it seems we are fish, so we cannot compare one to the other, this is life, one is in the heavens, and one is in the sea.

     

    When we succeed to a position then we are enabled to describe the honour in which we are welcomed and received. This even is related to our spiritual family. Our family bestows upon us a happiness which is incomparable. This is because the whole of our spiritual family is upgraded a rank and are thus more honoured themselves.

     

    The Ngoc Hư is a realm of which the Supreme Being has said that it is the great work of each of us and He has preserved it for each of us in the Paradise of Extreme Joy. When we have gained a position at the Ngọc Hư Cung and the Linh Tiêu Điện the whole of our spiritual family will welcome us back to the Great Work which the Supreme Being has created for us at the Ngọc Hư Cung. I do not have any words to describe it. Let us imagine the ceremony that welcomes us back to the Eternal Life of our spiritual family. Oh, how honourable it is, let us imagine and see.

     

    Depending on the rank which we obtain on this Path to Eternal Life, within the Paradise of Extreme Joy our progress does not end, we must keep on and work our way through no matter how high, until we sit on the Huỳnh Kim Khuyết (The Golden Gate) of the Supreme Being. That will be the day we attain our aims! But it is still so far therefore to return to the great work of the Supreme Being we will have a level of happiness depending on the rank in heaven we attain with this life.

     

    Can we attain a rank that is higher or lower, or more important and can we enjoy that position, settle into it or not? The joy we have over there is called the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. It is a joy which is endless, a happiness that cannot be described. A happiness which is endless, we might enjoy it in that place maybe 1200 years, or 2400 years, or 3600 years, then we must reincarnate in order to continue our progress on the Path to Eternal Life.

     

    In the next sermon I will continue to explain about the Paradise of Extreme Happiness  / Cực Lạc Thế Giới.

    The Paradise of Extreme Joy: Where we are Temporarily Liberated
    But this is not the Ultimate Realm for Souls.

    We invite each other to desire further progress along this Divine Path to Eternal Life. Last time I promised to guide the children of the Supreme Being towards entering the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. Tonight I keep this promise. We invite each other on our way. We shall leave from the Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa (a reference to the Divine Beings of the Nine Heavens who are responsible for opening those Nine Heavens and for teaching and elevating to humanity). In terms of the spirit we see that if we attain for ourselves a heavenly position then our journey continues along the Path to Eternal Life for we continue to invite each other along this path. What we have created in our lifetime is an honour so profound that we are unable to describe it. Living at the Tiểu Thiên Cung (Lesser Heavenly Palace) is our extended family which we have established throughout our numerous lives. So we pass out of the Tiểu Thiên Cung to our Great Extended Family. When we return to the Paradise of Extreme Joy the honour pertaining to such a move cannot be described. 

     

    From the distant past through to this very moment, Buddhism has explained and propagated the idea of the Paradise of Extreme Joy, and all of us have known of it. If we practice the Way of the Buddha and if we attain enlightenment then we may return to this Paradise. So, as I have said, the Paradise of Extreme Joy is a realm where we are temporarily liberated. That is the realm where we determine the works of our lives. It is not, however, the most lofty realm for souls.

     

    On occasion I will describe for you and guide you towards seeing your own characteristics. Once you have glimpsed this self-knowledge you will understand better The Paradise of Extreme Joy as it is propagated by the various religions. But the way it has been propagated is only through general ideals which are ultimately not so important. To translate this into French we would say “Nirvana” or “Quarternaire” they have no meaning at all. This is because there are other realms which are more superior and precious than this level. This is a place where we determine our works and our position, such as we determine our works in the earthly world. This is our great work which we offer to increase the possessions of the mass of people that are created by the people in their lives.

     

    The Paradise of Extreme Happiness, or Nirvana, is not strange to us. This is because it is only a location where the soul who attains the Way can arrive in order to enter the realm of their greater works. In this way the Buddhists consider their work with great importance, and if we are unable to arrive at this place, then it will mean that our greatest works will not be achieved. Before we arrive at this place we should understand more generally how this Paradise of Extreme Happiness operates. You must remember this, when you arrive at the door of the Paradise of Extreme Happiness you will see the Buddhist monks all sitting outside and chanting. Some of them, when they see us, will show us that they are trapped in some kind of pitiful pain and anguish. I will explain more clearly who they are, but later on. There is one thing we do see in this area and that is a crowd and the monks walk up and down, there are many different sorts of them here. Some of them have shaved heads, others have long beards, and still others have very strange forms. This is what we see when we arrive outside The Paradise of Extreme Joy. It is like the outskirts of the Holy See. I will speak more about these people from time to time.

     

    But what is this Paradise of Extreme Joy? Those souls who progress on the Divine Path to Eternal Life they eventually become free to decide their position. They become free to establish their own work in the Divine Realm. There is no other authority which is more important than this, and it does not matter as to the size of their authority, but that they are permitted to develop their own will. But is this because of their freedom or because of the right to council oneself?         

     

    Let us consider the two realms. The first, Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa (Divine Beings of the nine levels of Genies & Immortals of the Nine Heavens ), which is to progress along one side of the Ngọc Hư Cung, and the other side of the Linh Tiêu Điện, he second is Nirvana, or the Paradise of Extreme Joy, which is the absolute peace of the soul. So we see the true phenomena of these two realms. Every individual has to be influenced by this. For example, waking is suffering and sleeping is satisfied contentment. Therefore many people would like to sleep rather than be awake. When we sleep we enjoy it, but then we wake and suffering comes to us:

     

    -          Firstly, being awake belongs to the power of the Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa.

    -          Secondly, sleep belongs to the power of the Cực Lạc Thế Giới.

     

    There is only contentment and suffering. Living is hard and dying is contentment. Death is happiness. Living belongs to the powers of the Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa and dying comes under the power of the Cực Lạc Thế Giới.

     

    The power of Vạn Pháp Chuyển Luân / Pháp Luân Thường Chuyển (The Wheel of the Holy Doctrine (Dhamma-Cakka) set in Motion by the Buddha) of the mystical dharma of the progress of souls in the Universe is held entirely by the power of the Cực Lạc Thế Giới. At the Hư Vô Tịch Diệt (The absolute peace of soul) to obtain access to the mystical dharma one must go through the Paradise of Extreme Joy. One side governs the world while the other side determines positions in the heavenly hierarchy. In this way the two powers are related.

     

    Therefore after we enter the Paradise of Extreme Happiness we will see the happiness exceeds several times over the happiness which we saw at the Diêu Trì Cung (the Heaven of the Creation under the Mother Goddess). The happiness that we experienced by being near our Holy Mother. When we enjoyed the happiness of our mother we had a contentment that was not our own, it emanated rather from the common store of the good works gathered by our Holy Mother, that is, the Great Common Enterprise.

     

    Let us consider an example, when we return home to the house of our parents, although it may be noble and luxurious and infused with the grace of our parents, no matter how much we enjoy the presence of our parents, this is nothing compared with the feelings that rise from our own good works.

     

    Our work is special and it is created by ourselves and there for us to enjoy when we enter the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. It is therefore a more enjoyable contentment than that generated by our parents.

     

    The enjoyment at the Ngọc Hư Cung (Divine Jade Palace) is less than the enjoyment we experience at the Paradise of Extreme Happiness; from the work that we create we have a microcosm equal to the macrocosm of the Supreme Being. Within this microcosm of ours there are demons and buddhas.

     

    Because of the lack of intelligence we exercise in our lives, we practice animosity rather than love, and we practise hate rather than be philanthropic. If we are motivated by animosity we are in thrall to the karma of the demons. However, if we are motivated by love and philanthropy, then we create the karma of a Buddha. Such as the animosity of the Supreme Being that creates the karma of Satan. Whereas His philanthropic attitudes create the karma of heaven.

     

    Although we have the power in our own lives to obtain, to create, our own microcosm. We should rectify the bad things that evoke within us animosity and hatred. Gradually we should give these things up. Each life we should live a life of love in order to enjoy our pleasures at the Paradise of Extreme Joy / Cực Lạc Thế Giới for at least 1200 years, or 2,400 years, or 3,600 years, or 12,000 years, 24 000 years, 36 000 years according to the limits of time we have earned for ourselves. We have a method for each life where souls should subtract their animosity and hatreds in order to obtain the power of love we find in, for example, the image of the Three Saints who sign the Third Universal Amnesty with God which we see in the mural displayed at the front of the Great Divine Temple.

     

    At the beginning when the Way of the Third Amnesty opened, the Eighth Female Buddha gave a divine message on love in a very intimate manner. So, all of us should try to understand as profoundly as we can the Secret Doctrine which the Eighth Female Buddha has given to us, this is very important, very significant, especially for the Mystical Dharma. Therefore the Supreme Being has come to sign the agreement and so obligate all of us to one law, the law of love. Because of this law of love the Supreme Being can hold the powers of the universe in His hand. Because of this we can have the chance of creating a noble work or not, it depends on the power of this law. To tell you the truth, if we are unfortunate in our lives and there are relatives of ours who hate us, this is our demon karma, so we should be afraid of this. If we are smart we will use love to behave well towards them so they can destroy their animosity. Here is the Mystical Dharma upon which I have only slightly opened the curtain upon. I do this so that you, oh children of the Supreme Being, can search for the organization of liberation.

     

    The Paradise of Extreme Happiness is where we come home to our own heavenly microcosm, in particular that part closest to our Buddha realm. And on the side of the demon’s realm we suppress all this. This is how we determine the Dharma. In Daoism we find “if we sit without moving, quiet and concentrate, and we have the power of the spirits, then the Divine Light will illuminate us. Then there is no realm in the universe that we cannot understand completely.” We only need to sit in one spot, but we can move mountains and fill-in the seas. All spiritual authority maintains its power at the Paradise of Extreme Happiness because we have created that authority and from each life we may obtain the Way. We are holding the True Doctrine in our hands and using that which can be seen, the created and the limitless Mystical Dharma which has eternal power. Perhaps then the Supreme Being can graciously appoint us as an authority to control our own world, one which has dozens of planets. In this way we can, each of us, be the governor of a world. But we can only see this at the Paradise of Extreme Happiness, and this revolution can create within us both rule and law and so there is no need to go anywhere. This Eternal Power, which we cannot understand ourselves, continues to operate all the way. It operates through to that point where it has enough power to reach the Way and has enough power to create its own special universe just as the Supreme Being has His own universe. The time has come when we can reach the level of its end.

      

    Cực-Lạc Thế Giới - a paradise of extreme joy, a paradise of extreme happiness.

    Hư Vô Tịch Diệt  - the absolute peace of soul, 虛無寂滅.

     

    Karma – (s) literally, “action”. The Buddhist teaching that all our actions have consequences that carry on into our futures. The Law of Cause and Effect, the results of our thoughts, speech and behaviour.

     

    Ngọc Hư Cung - belongs to the Hư Vô Heaven. This is the Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law which controls and keeps the Divine Law. It also controls the progress and movement of the universe. Divine Jade Palace.

     

    Nirvana (s) literally, “extinction-quiescence”. State of ultimate liberation in which one is liberated from vexation, suffering, and the cycle of birth and death.

     

    Quarternaire (French)  quaternary – or that which can be divided into four – for example the arms of the cross or the Cabbalistic quartering of the body.

    The Supreme Being preserves for us Our Extended Divine Family.

    Tonight I will explain in more detail, and for a little longer. If you are tired, please excuse me and try not to be irritated or tired.

     

    Before I lead the children of the Supreme Being into the Paradise of Extreme Joy, tonight, I will teach you about a philosophy that the Children of the Supreme Being must pay close attention. In particular, I will lead you to a location, indeed a very beautiful place, which is known as the realm of Nirvana in Buddhism. Before I explain this, however, I have something that must be stressed.

     

    The moment has come to discuss the most important matter, that is, the end of the decision to set the future of Vietnam. I have already discussed the situation between the Vietnamese people and the French. I have found a person who will claim back the independence of Vietnam. Although we have been unable, we still must do everything we can to claim back our freedom.

     

    I think that all our people will decide to ensure that a person does not fail. And that person is Bảo Đại, our emperor. For the independence of our nation must be sought and won.

     

    I am sure that Emperor Bảo Đại will ask for and succeed in gaining this. Not only will he ask, but he also knows how to conserve our nation’s future. And so we too will be able to conserve it. This is a most essential matter. Of course this quest does not depend solely on Emperor Bảo Đại, but the whole nation. And in order to win (this independence) and fulfil his duty, he must make demands (of the French) and succeed. Whether we can attain this goal or not, all Vietnamese must work for this, not just the emperor.

     

    I would like to stress one more point. An essential matter, at this present time, there is no one who should stand up as a representative of the Nation or claim authority over the people, because there is no authority that can presently decide the future of the country. Of all the people, men and women, there is no thief who dares to say that they represent the nation, for we have already been robbed so badly.

     

    I think that at this moment, the whole of the Vietnamese people are aware and prepared not to let anyone abuse them. I am sure that the future of Vietnam is in the balance. It is a future that depends on how the Vietnamese exercise their intelligence, virtue, their capacities, their initiative, and their ability to be discerning and prudent. This will decide the future and the destiny of the Vietnamese race.

     

    We when look back at the situation of our country, our religious organizations are most essential. These organizations have been established by the Supreme Being Himself. They have been formed and maintained until now, which is when we need to use them. The Caodaist Religion is ready. So all men and women, who are the children of the Supreme Being, should now be more discerning, more conscious so that you can lead with virtuous spirit, the movement to preserve the future of our nation. The survival of our race will lead to a new purpose and a new happiness for the Vietnamese people that is the race (Lạc-Hồng) of a tradition 4000 year-long.

     

    And I have another issue that I would like you to be aware of. You must keep your eyes wide, remain careful, use your intelligence, do not let ghosts or demons guide you, or they will use tricks in order to destroy our work, to gain independence.

     

    For over 80 years we have been slaves and the French have demonstrated in 100 ways, right in front of our eyes, the wrong ways in which they have guided our people, we may get it wrong and be enslaved once more.

     

    I am trying to illuminate that path upon which all our people can decide our future direction. I speak of that path 4000 years long left to us by our ancestors. That is 4000 years of settlement. There are many times when we were enslaved and oppressed by the regime of that huge country, influenced by China. Until now there are many times that we were oppressed because we followed that path. So that we may build our country now, we have no other path than that of our ancestors to guide us, so that is the path we must travel.

     

    I have explained this essential issue, we must understand that the king is only the head of an extended family (Tông Đường). And this family is the lord of all, which is, lord of the hundred families. The king has the right to be the lord of this whole nation. An emperor or a king decides the destiny of the country but he is not alone in this, nor does he hold the monopoly, for there are authorities, those who are the heads of other Tông Đườngs. Therefore I shall establish a congress of eminent citizens from the whole nation, men and women, to hold the responsibility of advising the king and decide the destiny of the country. Therefore Bần Đạo has formed the Ban Kỳ Lão (Committee of Eminent Elder Citizens), that is a senior section of all national groups so that men as well as women can hold power in order to help the Emperor decide the destiny for our country. The whole body of believers, men and women from 50 years and up need to register so that I can be informed. I will also ask people outside our religion so that we can call together all those experienced senior citizen to achieve a national congress, a congress that will be ready to receive the return of the Emperor Bảo Đại. And he will return in order to decide the destiny of the country. This concludes the issue.      

     

    Now I would like to continue to explain the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. I have said that the extended spiritual family of each of you has already been made clear. The words of the Supreme Being, spoken metaphorically that your patrimony has been maintained by your Divine Master, preserved and ready for you. That is our spiritual extended family (Tông Đường Thiêng Liêng).

     

    Our Tông Đường / spiritual extended family is divided into three classes:

     

    -          The first is that of our intelligence and spirit which is produced by our original souls.

    -          The second is the class of our external relatives, I speak of our souls, they associate with us when we reincarnate. Each life when we return to be human we move into a wed of parents, siblings, friends, relatives, and of these are our “external” relatives.

    -          Thirdly, there is the class of our internal relatives and these are our souls that go down for reincarnation. For each life that we descend we divine our body and incarnate in order to become a particular person.  And so sublime beings need not reincarnate but have the right to go, that is, they descend in for the sake of reincarnating. We find this in the prayer “Nhứt thân ức vạn diệu huyền thần biến”(one body, one million mysterious transformations). The sublime soul only has one body, but they can transform it into millions of bodies. And so our intellectual nature and our conscious are unable to determine that process. One needs many lives and many attempts at reincarnating before one can reach such mysteries. The Supreme Being has granted for us, in each life, one death. Every death has about it an energy of death (tử khí) and this energy is a block by which we can build ourselves a lotus throne. All this determines our position. The energies of our body is decided by our original soul (nguyên linh) this is the most important thing, if we are afraid of loosing this, then this really is something to be afraid of.

     

    When we look back at the other two classes we can assess whether they are extended relatives or internal relatives they still flee from us. Just as within the original personality of Supreme Being Himself, Lucifer. So who is Lucifer, well, he is he very close friend of the Supreme Being. Despite this He uses our virtuous behaviour to prevent our wrong deeds leading us to rebel from the Supreme Being. To do this is to determine our devil-position. Our external relatives normally rebel with us, the drama we normally see is this. Even our blood relationships rebel, just as our friends ho often turn from us. Closest of friends can seem like one person, but we only have one True Friend.   

     

    After I have guided you to enter the realm of Nirvana all of us will see that although our internal-relative is singular, it will transform into millions. But these die away again and there is only one. When our dharma body (dhammakaya) returns, it too is singular. The most disastrous thing is our position which does not correspond or our position is not certified in the way that we expect, or as it deserves. So, it hastens to reincarnate, out of this there is nothing else.

     

    The external relatives, the Supreme Being has said, can be made perfect, in fact the Supreme Being Himself is anxious about this. So He advises that you should establish these things now, while you are still in this earthly world so that you can develop these dimensions of your existence gradually. Therefore when He established the Dao (Đạo, Tao, Way) He called Tương, Trang, and Kỳ, those who are the Great Divine Appointees, and He asked each of these to establish their own spiritual families. To establish a family is to establish our spiritual external relations, this is the most essential thing. Why does the Supreme Being ask that such families be established? If there are not external relatives, then we would not develop our spiritual microcosm. Therefore Noble Souls have established their heavenly palaces in brilliant manner. The most essential things are that the religious founders, (of various faiths on earth) are the members within these bodies who issue the call for all to follow in order for there to be support for them.

     

    I will not hide it, I myself have a Tông Đường which is a great honour, it is not so great as other Tông Đườngs, such as those of Maitreya Buddha, Quan Yin Buddha, or Amitabha Buddha.

     

    The Tông Đường of the Hộ Pháp is also rather good, and so the Acting Pope often pretended to say that the court of the Hộ Pháp’s family is stronger than that of his own (i.e. the Lê family). But he is only being figurative when he says this. Now as I have said, regarding our spiritual Tông Đường, we worry sometimes whether we will be lost from it or not, it is our best friend, but being lost from it can often happen.

     

    As I am guiding all the children of the Supreme Being, remember, you must listen attentively, for today’s teaching is essential and I have a duty to preach it to you.

     

    We invite each other to return to Nirvana, because Nirvana is the capital of the Paradise of Extreme Joy / Cực Lạc Thế Giới. Here we will see Sakyamuni Buddha at the Kim Sa Đại Điện (Great Palace of The Golden Sand). This palace is like a pyramid, as pyramids appear in Egypt but not exactly, its body is round and it is “ngủ thiên ngủ giái.” It does not look like those pyramids of Peru, from the top to the base it looks more like a bánh-ếch (a pyramid-shaped sticky rice treat wrapped in banana leaves). They also “ngủ -thiên and ngủ -chuyển” as the pyramid, but on the top level it is flat.

     

    The pyramid: as with the people of Peru, when they worshiped and made offerings to the Supreme Being it was to this top level that they came to present their offerings. The pyramids of Egypt look more like what I am speaking of. When we arrive we see that the pyramid is the Kim Sa (Golden Sand). Additionally, there is one thing we must pay the most attention to and this is that at the door of this pyramid there is a great willow tree. I am unable to describe this tree. Its leaves are small like a thread and we see that it covers the pyramid. If we used our human eyes to observe its surface we might imagine that its circumference is a few 100 kilometres around, it has no end. It seems to your eyes to go on forever. This willow tree covers over the pyramid completely like a parasol. The Secret Dharma of the Nirvana is this Willow tree. Each leaf has a drop of holy water on it, so, each leaf has this drop of water, and each drop of water is the foundation for a life in the universe.

     

    The pyramid has levels and steps and numerous Buddhas, so many that we cannot count. At each level we see these Buddhas sitting on their lotus thrones, everywhere we look we see Buddhas.

     

    I have said those Buddhas are created by the original soul of the Supreme Being and this is how they attained their position. If we use our spiritual eye and look up at these lotus thrones then we see their positions, the lives of the Buddhas created for them these lotus thrones and the highest lotus flower. If a Buddha would like a promotion to a higher lotus flower they must reincarnate, they must become an animal and then go from this level up to the Buddha position. Then, once this is achieved another level of lotus flower is gained. We arrive at the level of these lotus flowers that is, we arrive at the pyramid. We then see them transforming back to their dhammakaya bodies (Pháp Thân), this looks as though they appear from out of the Kim Bàn (The Golden Basin). We have seen in this Golden Basin of the Buddha Mother there is an essence that is not clear, such as in a dream. And the dhammakaya body when it reigns over the lotus flower the body will be complete, perfect, clear. It is then we see this astral body appear as mysterious and eternal. Each of these lotus flowers are luminous that is to say each spiritual dharma they light transforms a world of the universe. They are related to the universe and all other worlds because of the luminosity of these lotus flowers. This is similar to how a radio broadcast operates, every place can tune in. Because there are special rights for governing, which one cannot predict, the whole universe is under their direction. This is not a direction in terms political, but rather, educational.

     

    The political system of the Universe has two organs. The first is the organization that governs the worlds. The second is the organization that awakens humanity.

     

    On the side of the Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa (Divine Beings of the nine levels of Genies & Immortals of the Nine Heavens) they hold the power of the political systems of the Universe. But at the side of the Paradise of Extreme Joy that is, Nirvana, they are only teaching, and educating the beings.

     

    I have said that the dhammakaya body, once it achieves it lotus flower throne may still be dreaming, there is only “ngủ tầng quan or thập tầng quan”. If one lags behind the others then one must remain behind by 1200 years in order to sit and meditate and settle the spirit. This must be done so one can create a higher and more honourable lotus flower throne. The souls who travel on the Path of Progress then they enter the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. This is the only thing that they dream about.

     

    These Buddhas compared with the Supreme Being, that is, in comparing the Buddhas to the Great Divine Being they are merely one part against ten thousand. Therefore their path of progress should continue, they should go on forever.   

     

     Amitabha – the name of the Buddha of the Western Pure Land, primary meaning Infinite Life and Light. Called Amituofo in Chinese.

     

    Ban Kỳ Lão - Committee of Eminent Elder Citizens (over 60 years olds).

     

    Bánh-ếch - a pyramid-shaped sticky rice flour treat wrapped in banana leaves.

     

    Cực-Lạc Thế Giới - a paradise of extreme joy, a paradise of extreme happiness.

    Tông Đường - literally ones ancestral temple. The Hộ Pháp also uses this term to refer to our wider spiritual family whom we meet in returning to heaven. It is our Spiritual clan or spiritual extended family or even spiritual lineage.

    What is a Drop of Holy Water?
    What is the True Physiognomy of Nirvana?
    What is the True Physiognomy of the Paradise of Extreme Happiness?

    Today I would like continue speaking about our progress on the Divine Path to Eternal Life. Previously I have guided all the children of the Supreme Being as we have entered the realm of Nirvana.

     

    I have described to you the countless Buddhas and I have pointed out that at the centre of the great pyramid there is a great Willow Tree which covers over the entire pyramid. It covers completely the pyramid and is like a heavenly net that covers it. Each leaf looks as it would on this planet and each leaf is a little bigger than a human hair and at the end of each leaf we find a drop of holy water. What is this drop of water? It is that which transforms into the life of souls throughout the universe.

     

    I have also described to you all the Buddhas and I have said that the form is not different from what we see in the golden basin of the Buddha Mother which I have already mentioned. This image remains dim and when the highly elevated soul returns and is raised on the throne of pyramid then its image becomes bright and clear. It is then that the Pháp Thân (or Cosmic Body of the Buddha/Dharmakaya) becomes mysterious, limitless and endless. Why? We have found out the philosophy and the reason of this Dharmakaya during the time of its appearance at the Golden Basin of the Buddha Mother, but this is only a metaphor. Depending on the circle of life and death we then are able to attain the constitutive elements of a living being in order to make our Dharmakaya with our millions of reincarnations. We do this in order to obtain all the secret mysteries and the power of creation itself. Therefore when one is able to obtain this Dharmakaya then one attains Buddhahood. It is at this time that one will understand completely all Divine secrets from all of creation.

     

    I have also said that our Tử Khí (death energy), that is the physical body which we carry on the earthly world in order to be friend with other beings, this physical body when it dies, then it returns back to this sum of death energy. People think that our bodies rot and cease to exist, however, this energy of death allows us to create for ourselves a lotus-flower throne. Now I would like to explain more clearly that the Dharmakaya of the Buddhas of are raised on the throne of the lotus flowers of the pyramid, a collection of thousands of lives lived, they therefore transform into a limitless, an endless image. I have said, however, if we see the death-energy we may fear it but in fact we desire it, we seek after it so dearly, and at this moment we see under the root of the Willow Tree another lotus flower throne which is so precious, multi-faceted and glows with millions of divine sparks throughout the universe, covering the universe. On this lotus flower throne we find the chief of the religions of Nirvana that is Maitreya Buddha. Previously this throne was the throne of Amitabha Buddha. At the time to open the Great Religion for the Third Period (Salvation) that is to open the Caodaist Religion, the Supreme Being gave the authority for this event to Maitreya Buddha. At this spiritual moment the Supreme Being has granted for humanity powers of atomic dimensions. This power also comes from the throne of the lotus flower.

     

    If we come to Nirvana and see the secret design of the “Khí /Qi” character which we have already seen the Supreme Being place at the rear of the Hộ Pháp altar there is little difference. If we have obtained atomic power, this power is the power of the vital breath, its quintessence is vital breath. Its power is an atomic power. It is as if Maitreya Buddha if seated upon a core of atoms becomes the constitution of his lotus throne. At this moment his lotus flower throne holds a core of atoms which everyone is currently wanting and searching for. The Supreme Being has created this feature and these is not one soul who would not desire this position because even if one were honourable, rich and noble, even if you were a king, in the paradise of Extreme Joy your pleasure and status would not equate with this realm. To be seated on the pyramid, on a luminous throne of a lotus flower, everyone desires and seeks after such an experience. Whether you can get such a thing, well, that depends on you. I have said that Sakyamuni Buddha has told us there are countless Buddhas and he did not lie to us. The number of Buddhas is indeed countless.

     

    Decisively I have explained that the Supreme Being has created and reserved this dimension for His children. This position if someone once sat upon it, then now we can also sit upon it. So if before someone could obtain this position then clearly we too can win it. It is the Kim Bàn so we can also sit on it. But one can sit on it or not, this depends upon our virtuous foundation. These forever-precious properties is not for selecting one person, that is a position that  is not just for a certain person, but in fact everybody can attain it.

     

    The soul decides the right for the establishment of its own position, for example it decides its rights on the earthly world. The decision it makes is always the truth. Wanting to develop a lotus throne at this pyramid, this certainly depends on us. We would like to have such a thing but whether it lasts of not, this all depends on us. This is the truth, and the truth is always like this.

     

    I have said that before we enter the Paradise of Extreme Happiness we will meet a crowd of people at the outskirts of this paradise. We will see all sorts of people, they are made from al different races, and they come not just from this 68th planet. The shaved-headed, the bearded, all sorts of people When they come up to the Paradise of Extreme Happiness they then will face a wall which is very high. This wall prevents them from moving further just like the Great Wall of China. We feel excited because we are excited for them and when we travel the space to enter the Paradise of Extreme Joy we look down and we see the crowds jostling forward. They gather into groups of three or seven and when it is time these groups do chanting, and I am not saying this because we can laugh at them or criticize, but when we see them, we feel pity for them. Who are these souls? If we understand the philosophy of the Supreme Being then we should not worry for these people, these people are monks and priests of the various religions. Although they follow the not-straight path, even the heretical way, nevertheless their heart is always directed towards the religious teaching. There are many intellectuals and many elevated souls who follow these heretical ways, even though we know they are heretical, it is not strange that this happens because there are people who guide them and who make it so these ways are easy to follow.

     

    What a pity for those people because they do not intend to be wrong, but they are wrong because where ever there is religion, they follow, but they do not know what is the true doctrine. This is the case now when we see people shaving their heads to enter Buddhist monasteries to practise the way and become Buddhas. But they are not aware of the origins of their religion or that it is wrong. This is not their fault. The harmful and surprising thing for them comes because they do not understand completely the true teaching and they do not know the realm of Nirvana nor its true physiognomy. They do not know what is the true physiognomy of the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. So, how is it that they can enter this paradise nevertheless? It is because they have a genuine heart to practice the way. Still, they can  not enter because of the religions on the planet earth have deviated from the true course. They follow these because they listen and believe. To follow these religions they also are able to come to the Paradise of Extreme Happiness but there is only one thing that separates them, they cannot enjoy the most profound dimensions of this paradise. They enjoy the simulated experience. They must stay at the outskirts of this Paradise for a certain period so they are able to more fully know and cultivate their spirit. These people have no sin whatsoever they are merely lost or on the wrong path, therefore they enjoy the unreal dimension of this Paradise or even Nirvana. They remain on the outskirts and enjoy the unreal dimensions of this place. They stay here refining themselves for a period of 500 or 700 years. Then they reincarnate and practice the way again and if they do this it enables them to understand profoundly the true teaching and they will enter the real Paradise.

     

    And now we suppose that we ask our friends at the Paradise of Extreme Joy to come out of the realm of Nirvana, meet and talk with them, when the meet us they would ask us questions such as “When the French see people returning from their colony they say, ‘how’s your business? And how are the others?’ in like manner the Divine Beings pose the same questions. They ask about the situation of the souls, their sins and their merits, they ask if they have achieved anything, have they helped elevate the Dao? Do these souls know themselves or not? We will have a conversation that is very charming and with a fortunate affinity. How can such a difficulty for human beings exist in the making of their positions, we answer: because they are suspicious. They think that it is enough for them to rise to this level, and because they are suspicious they do not know where the true teaching lies. They have lied too much, what are they suspicious about? They are suspicious because they suspect that there is no Extreme joy in Nirvana, they say that there is no realm of the heavenly palace. They think that these ideas are fantastic or shadowy, they do not believe there are Buddhas, Immortals, Saints or Genies. They remain doubtful. It is only after we answer that they become disappointed. We have seen that on the earthly world there are all sorts of people from the stupid to the intelligent, those who have mysterious power, and those who understand the whole organ of creation and know how to take advantage of this creation. We see how it works on the planet earth like this, and in the Western Paradise they also have different levels and the Genies, Saints, Immortals and Buddhas are created by the true teaching. If we can see that there are people on the earthly world who are sublime then we know the same happens in the other realms. The truth has already shown itself how can we now remain in doubt? We remain so however because we do not understand with enough depth these positions. We are suspicious because of ourselves. On this planet earth there are people who are more sublime than others. Their spirits are more fluent, people have often seeing beings such as Sakyamuni Buddha, Jesus Christ, who are higher than these beings, for they themselves said they are Buddhas on this planet but there are yet higher souls. We have not yet seen through the door of Eternal Life, so we still cannot believe this. The truth cannot be described.

     

    Therefore this doubtfulness and lack of intelligence in these people is generated by the karmic outcome of their lives. They have undertaken suffering but they have to be under the power of creation, they also have to be progressing forward in their lives. They have to go gradually but continue to progress within the law of karmic result for humans. The Supreme Being has said to His children, “Children, if you know the Dao and you practice the Way for a lifetime you will attain the Way.” These words of the Supreme Being are not wrong. To attain the Way or not, it is up to you - look directly at the Supreme Being. Then you will know. 

     

    Amitabha – the name of the Buddha of the Western Pure Land, primary meaning Infinite Life and Light. Called Amituofo in Chinese.

     

    Cực-Lạc Thế Giới - a paradise of extreme joy, a paradise of extreme happiness.

     

    Dao - Đạo (v), Tao (c), Way.

     

    Hộ Pháp - is the one who unveils the Mystery of the Invisible and is the Maintainer of the Rules and laws of the New Religion / Cao- Đài Religion. He is the one who pronounces judgments on the dignitaries and disciples, elevates the dignity of the fervent through their merit and brings sanctions against those who have committed faults. He is actively involved in assuring that the religious Rules and Laws which have become Divine Laws are carried out in detail, in order to keep the dignitaries and adepts free of the sufferings inflicted by the Lords of Karma.

     

    In so acting, he watches over the positive progress of the disciples in the Way of God, and guides all evolved souls to achieve the Divine Phase of the Great Spirits. He holds control over the Legislative Power both exoterically and esoterically.

    Many People practise the Way But few achieve a position
    because the Way to the Paradise of Extreme Joy is blocked by Lucifer?

    Tonight Bần Đạo continues to speak of our desire to progress along the Divine Path to Eternal Life.

     

    In the last sermon I spoke to the Children of the Supreme Being regarding the spiritual dimensions that relate to the entry of the Paradise of Extreme Joy, also, I have taken you to see this realm of Nirvana. Moreover, I have pointed out how you can find the outer-districts of this Paradise. I think that the verified teachings of the Supreme Being which we have received up to this moment enables us to explain what is going on well enough. We know about the nine heavens above us, but one must nevertheles obtain the Way before one has the right to approach the Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa (That is: The Divine Beings in the Nine Heavens have been given responsibility to teach humanity).

     

    Before I describe to you these upper realms, I think it is necessary to let all the children of the Supreme Being understand the Path towards these realms. I do this so that one day, when your time comes, you understand this path clearly – and that you do not fear it, that you know where you are going. I also want to make sure you are confident in the steps you will take towards your evolution.

     

    I should remind you of one essential thing which is part of my special responsibility. I have pondered upon this issue which has influenced the various religions, especially Buddhism. From time immemorial through to this present moment, there have been many people who have practiced the way, but those who have attained Buddha-hood are still too few, this is because, unfortunately, the Dao had been blocked.

     

    I have not yet developed such a good affinity with the Dao that I can yet question or argue with the Divine Beings, I still need to thoroughly question them about the details of this.

     

    While I was at Ngọc Hư Cung, Linh Tiêu Điện (The Court of God), I received the Holy Order from the Supreme Being to go and open the Paradise of Extreme Happiness. At the beginning my spirit continued to be confused. I did not know why I was given such a duty as this - to open the Paradise of Extreme Happiness? In fact, what actually is the Paradise of Extreme Happiness? And why am I being sent to open it? These questions I had to ask myself. When I went I discovered the situation of the souls who had obtained high positions in the Universe. I learnt how they undertake their examination from the Kim Quang Sứ (Lucifer, Satan). This figure is permitted, by the grace of the Supreme Being, to be the examiner of the Hạ Ngươn Tam Chuyển (The last circle of the Third Manvantara [i.e. third transition]). After this circle is complete then the first circle of the Fourth Manvantara will commence.

     

    Who is this Kim Quang Sứ? According to Christianity he is referred to as Lucifer. He is a great immortal. He has the power to bring the spiritual light of the Supreme Being to illuminate the universe. This great immortal has aimed himself towards the position of a Buddha; the power he has obtained is not much less than the power of the Supreme Being. Lucifer could attain Buddhahood, this position is only a few steps away from him, but because of his pride and his haughtiness, he always falls short of his goal. If he only relinquished his disabling character traits, if he only served the Supreme Being as he should, then things would be better, however, because of his greed for advancement ad because of his pride, he cannot acknowledge the power of the Supreme Being. In this matter his will can exceed that of the Supreme Being. He takes for himself, therefore, great powers in order to control the Universe. He has not gained these powers completely, but the Ngọc Hư Cung (the Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law) already knows of the dishonesty of Lucifer.

     

    His betrayal of the Way and his audacity in the face of the Supreme Being (but not the Ngọc Hư Cung), provide Lucifer with the position of governor of the world. When beings have no pride, no haughtiness then the position of President of the Universe is not at all a despicable one, regrettably, Lucifer was not satisfied with such a position. His betrayal caused him to be sent down to the position of first amongst the devils. If we would like to understand the situation of Kim Quang Sứ and how he took over the power of the heavens, then you should read the Bible.

     

    At the moment the Great Immortal Kim Quang Sứ, together with other souls, has been granted an amnesty. You see, perverse spirits have also received blessing from the Supreme Being in His general amnesty as well as all the other souls in the universe. Therefore this first leader of the demons and devils had also undertaken highly significant duties in particular to examine those immortals seeking Buddhahood.

     

    It is not surprising then that Lucifer has come to us through séance at a time when the Đạo was becalmed and the whole sacred body of the Supreme Being were acting harmoniously. It was a period when we had no bad intentions against each other; there was not even a whisper of rebellion. Everyone followed the rules, the orders of the true teachings of the Supreme Being... but suddenly Kim Quang Sứ has come in through séance and provided us with a poem which is more like an ultimatum,

    All nine immortal ranks fear my face

    I may bow to Sakyamuni, but chaos thunders in my wake

    You see how I'm received at that Palace of Jade

    But will truth or heresy usher you to the Pure Land?

    Look at that! His power is like this. What a pity! The way from the Ngọc Hư Cung to the Paradise of Extreme Joy is now blocked by Lucifer and souls can not pass. Because it is blocked they could do nothing but return. Accordingly our religion explains this, the Supreme Being, of course, understands this, it is a fact he is familiar with.

     

    The Being who dares let the enemy determine one’s lot, the enemy that has the power to examine His children, and the means to examine Him! Nevertheless He does not flinch, He is not afraid. Because of this we can see that the Power of the Supreme Being is higher than that of Lucifer. In reality it is much higher.

     

    One would think that now the Supreme Being has to keep carefully the spirit of humanity. But in fact He need not pay as much attention as we think.

     

    When the Dao was opened at the Từ Lâm temple Lucifer was there. He held the "Corbeille à bec" and wrote his name and then ascended. The Supreme Being allowed Lucifer to attend in order to both destroy and examine. That is, could Lucifer destroy His true religion? If they could, then they were allowed. Or, at the very least, Lucifer and his followers were allowed to examine it carefully. The Supreme Being gave his permission for this to happen. In this way Lucifer has come and he is not afraid to destroy the Dao. Yet note, the Supreme Being did not hesitate in granting him permission. Lucifer has carried out, over 20 years, trick after scheming trick. The children of the Supreme Being, both men and women are being destroyed; he has consistently tried to make the children of the Supreme Being relinquish the Dao. There is no trick he will not use to destroy the Holy Body of the Supreme Being. But... it is not easy... despite the power of Lucifer; he cannot overtake the level of the Supreme Being which He has wished for His children. And we have seen enough proof to understand this.

     

    Ah what a pity it is for him. Whether we know it or not, we cannot let Lucifer in. The Supreme Being allows Lucifer to examine His children, in this way He relinquishes the Earthly in exchange for the Holy.

     

    I have read up on history and I remember when Hàn-Tín went to Quang-Trung. Trương Tử Phòng had presented a diplomatic memorandum (to Hàn-Tín) so that he could affect an important diplomatic task. That is, he had given him a Sword of elevation (or Gươm Hùng-Kiếm). There was a pair of swords, one was given to Tiêu-Hà for safe-keeping. The other sword was given to someone else with the responsibility of coming to Hớn-Bái-Công to recognise Hàn-Tín as a general.

     

    Hàn-Tín had received the diplomatic memorandum of Trương Tử Phòng so that he could establish his official name. But for some reason he hid this memorandum. We do not know how or why he did this, but he tried to put on display his own talent and skill to make Hớn-Bái-Công recognise him and employ him for an important task. He tried this without using the official diplomatic memorandum.

     

    Another pity! Such a difficult thing it is to make others realise who we are, especially when it is only through our own agency. It was but in this way that Hàn-Tín was examined. In such a case it does not matter how much talent you have you still cannot break out of destiny’s force. He could not meet his fate by talent alone, instead he met an examiner called Phàn-Khoái, and this figure prevented Hàn-Tín from demonstrating his intellectual power. This examiner used the ploy of interfering so precisely that at midnight Hàn-Tín leaped onto his horse and returned to Quang Trung. When Tiêu-Hà became aware of what had happened, he followed and caught up with Hàn-Tín. And it was at this stage that he agreed to present the diplomatic memorandum. This situation happened because of the pride and self-respect of Hàn-Tín. This might seem noble, but after all is said and done, you have to stand and be judged so that you can make your talent valuable.

     

    Another person that has met a similar situation is Phụng-Sồ (from the Chinese Classic “The Three Kingdoms”). Phụng-Sồ was examined by Trương Phi and because of this he could not make his name by his virtues alone. The Supreme Being can determine for us a position, but we must create our power by our own talents. The Supreme Being can determine a position for us, but we must use our virtues within the Dao to create our own way to that position. That is, we must undertake an examination to both perform at and to pass if we wish to attain our sublime heavenly positions. If we fail we must accept that we will go backwards, we cannot refuse! And the examiner is very harsh.

     

    Accordingly, (as these stories illustrate) the true nature of humanity means that we are judged harshly, Kim Quang Sứ judges even more harshly. His pride and self-conceit are all-consuming and there is no being, no soul, who can corrupt or bribe him. There is no one who can ask him to elevate anyone who is examined and who does not convincingly pass his scrutiny.

     

    This is why I must tell you that I was given a Holy Order to go and open the way to the Paradise of Extreme Happiness.

     

    At that time I travelled with a Precious Object of the Dharma, using the mysterious vehicle of the clouds, to pass from the Ngọc Hư Cung to the Cực Lạc Thế Giới. When the mysterious vehicle passed this location I saw that the way was barred by Kim Quang Sứ. I was disconcerted and I did not know if I should stay or return. Then suddenly I saw his eminence Lý Minh Vương (the Chinese Immortal Li Tai Guai) in the Dhammakaya body of his holiness Thượng Trung Nhựt (the Caodaist Acting Pope). He was holding his stick and limping towards and fighting with Kim Quang Sứ. The acting pope was both limping and leaping forward, exhausted, yet fighting, even though one leg was shorter than the other!

     

    I was sitting on a mysterious cloud vehicle wondering how Lý Minh Vương could fight like that. This was because at the beginning all I could see was the acting pope. Of course, as you know, the acting pope was Lý Minh Vương.  Facing up to him was Kim Quang Sứ, and each of them were fighting. It seemed, however, that neither of them could gain the upper hand. Even though there were many precious dharma objects used in the battle, the fight was inconclusive. For a while I saw Lý Minh Vương hit Kim Quang Sứ with his stick and there were sparks and soot splattered all over Lucifer as if a bottle of ink had been smashed upon him. And when he hit him it divided him in two, creating a second person. Then on the other side in the Holy Body of the Supreme Being I saw a heavenly-appointed member of the hierarchy, whose name I do not want to reveal, who stopped this being by ery effectively fighting with it.

     

    No matter how many people were created by Lucifer, the same number were created on the other side to fight him and his army. A great war commenced at this point. And there am I siting on this cloud vehicle, which is like sitting on an airplane, observing all this fighting.

     

    As I watched this great battle for so long I actually started growing weary. I fell asleep! But when I woke up, these forces were still fighting. Three times I fell asleep, three times I woke again, but they were still fighting. After the third time I awoke I saw the war extend to the depth of the whole universe. I did not know how to join in the battle, but I realised that I could not sit on the cloud vehicle for ever. I had to find a way to help. When I began thinking in this way my dhammakaya appeared as another person. Sitting on the cloud vehicle I wore a white robe and the hat I wear for minor ceremonial dress. I do know what that ceremonial dress was made of, but after I put this on I felt so light, so happy! And when I exited my dhammakaya I saw that I was wearing my major ceremonial dress. This costume is like the one I wear on earth, but even my earthly one is only a rough copy of this.

     

    After I changed into my major ceremonial dress I held my Giáng Ma Xử (staff of the rule over evil) and holding the Golden Whip (Kim Tiên) I flew over the top of, and hovered over, the person sitting in the mysterious cloud vehicle. (There is one thing to be aware of here, the person on the top can understand and know what the person sitting on the vehicle is doing as if they are the same person!)

     

    I saw that the battlefield was so vast. I held the Golden Whip, and the Giáng Ma Xử - which had no visible form. This precious dharma object is invisible. The Golden Whip belongs to Cửu-Thiên Cảm-Ứng Lôi-Âm Phổ-Hoá Thiên-Tôn, that is, it belongs to his holiness Thái-Sư Văn-Trọng. He had also given me a dharma staff (you will see it when entering the meditation hall). This dharma staff is used to destroy evil and to prevent evil forces from blowing tempestuously into the Great Divine Temple of the Supreme Being. It also prevents these forces from disturbing His children.

     

    When I flew to the middle of the sky I saw the vast battlefield, yet I did not know how to comprehend it. If the battlefield remained so vast, it would be very hard to fight. But when I held the Golden Whip and sought to draw a circle to hem in the battle, it was not so different to the action of casting a net. I held the Golden Whip and concentrated on drawing the forces into a smaller area. And when I did this, the battlefield became much more concentrated. Once it became smaller and smaller I could see that our side was defeating Kim Quang Sứ (Lucifer).

     

    Our religious side (with His Eminence Lý Minh Vương in the lead) had destroyed the side of the Kim Quang Sứ. Finally only His Eminence was left fighting alone with Kim Quang Sứ. They fought each other for some while longer. It was then that Lý Minh Vương hit Kim Quang Sứ with his stick, just once, and Kim Quang Sứ was transformed into a mere aura. He got into a nimbus and fled.

     

    This is the way to the Paradise of Extreme Joy. We can see why religions have said that the Dao is blocked. Moreover, when we arrive at the external door of the Paradise of Extreme Happiness as we are approaching, there are two wheels spinning. Both of them are turning continuously. If we use our imagination we can see that these wheels from their top to bottom are about five or ten thousand metres across and when they are spinning they prevent the door from opening, like the great wall they do not allow anyone to pass.

     

    Of these two doors, one door creates a white nimbus and the other creates a red and pink nimbus, when I first saw these I did not know what they were, but they were two doors. When I arrived I used the Giáng Ma Xử (staff of the rule over evil), I concentrated and pointed the staff directly at these two doors asking them to stop their spinning. They immediately stopped. And now if we observe carefully we can see that the white circle was a swastika that had been spinning. When I asked it to stop the people who were at the external door of the Paradise of Extreme Happiness ran inside. After some of them had already crowded inside I also directed the other wheel to stop and another group of people rushed in.

     

    After these people entered there was a Buddha standing above and with his two arms he did Bắt Ấn (a mystical gesture of the hand[s]) and threw down a swastika. This wheel started spinning again. In this way only some of the souls entered.

     

    When I stopped the wheels spinning souls entered. This was because at the external door of the Paradise there were souls who had attained a position in heaven but because the dharma was blocked they could not enter. It meant that I was directed to go and stop these spinning swastikas so that these souls could enter. When the Buddha appeared and made them turn once more the way was blocked again. I am sure that all the souls who entered that Paradise should have. That is, the Holy opinion of the Supreme Being, was to stop the wheels to let them in. Perhaps someone might think though that this is just a coincidence.

     

    Therefore, the Supreme Being has made the order that the door of the Paradise of Extreme Joy should be opened because of the following two reasons:

     

    - Firstly, the way from the Linh Tiêu Điện Ngọc Hư Cung to the Paradise of Extreme Happiness at that time was barred by Kim Quang Sứ.

    - Secondly, the monks who have practised the Way but who had not achieved Nirvana because the True Dharma was perverted caused them to be exiled outside this Paradise.

     

    The Supreme Being has said I must go there and guide the souls and preserve for them a position at the Paradise of Extreme Happiness.   

      

    Bắt Ấn - a mystical gesture of the hands.

     

    Cực-Lạc Thế Giới - a paradise of extreme joy, a paradise of extreme happiness.

    Cửu-Thiên Cảm-Ứng Lôi-Âm Phổ-Hoá Thiên-Tôn -九天感應雷聲普化天尊 . This is the position of the Principal Ggenii, head of the Lôi Bộ. He oversees the lightening, thunder and maker of rain. According to the Fen Shen Yen I (a famous Chinese novel). His Holiness Nguơn Thỉ Thiên Tôn appointed the spirit of Thái Sư Văn Trọng (who is an officer to King Trụ) to the Cửu Thiên Cảm Ứng Lôi Thinh Phổ Hoá Thiên Tôn in order to be head of the Lôi Bộ (Genies of Thunder) which includes control of the 24 Celestial Generals.

    Cửu Thiên Khai Hóa - the Masters or Divine Beings of the Nine Heavens. A reference to the Divine Beings of the Nine Heavens who are responsible for opening these Nine Heavens and for teaching and elevating humanity.

     

    Dao - Đạo (v), Tao (c), Way.

     

    Giáng Ma Xử - The Staff for The Rule Over Evil.

     

    Gươm Hùng-Kiếm - Sword of Elevation.

     

    Hạ Ngươn Tam Chuyển - The last circle of the Third Manvantara, Third Period of the Third Transition, Third Universal Transmission.

     

    Kim Quang Sứ - Satan, Lucifer.

     

    Kim Tiên - Golden Whip, 金鞭  , a precious staff of  His Holiness Hộ-Pháp,  This dharma staff is used to destroy evil and to prevent evil forces from blowing tempestuously into the Great Divine Temple of the Supreme Being.

     

    Linh Tiêu Điện – The Court of God. The palace where the Supreme Being holds meetings with the Heavenly Council.

     

    Ngọc Hư Cung - belongs to the Hư Vô Heaven. This is the Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law which controls and keeps the Divine Law. It also controls the progress and movement of the universe. Divine Jade Palace.

     

    Thượng Trung Nhựt - Religious Name the Caodaist Acting Pope.

    The Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên
    Where the Great and Merciful Father Appears

    Tonight I will continue to talk about our desires to progress along the Divine Path to Eternal Life.

     

    I will continue to explain (our progress) from the Tạo-Hoá Huyền Thiên (The Tạo Hóa Heaven – or the Heaven of Creation under the Mother Goddess or Celestial Sphere of Creation. This heaven is the palace of the Mother Buddha) I will show how we get from there to the Phi Tưởng Diệu Thiên (the 8th of the 9 heavens, - and it is a Very Mysterious Heaven). Finally from here we can move to the Hư Vô Cao Thiên (The Heaven of the Highest Void). These heavens (editor’s note: could also mean “the last of these three”) hold the power of liberation for all beings.

     

    The powers of this place are highly spiritual and I am not allowed to describe them to you. Fortunately this power has been described to an extent in the Scriptures and it is something we will find familiar. So, if I describe it again, the description might simply be superfluous or useless. Only the Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên (or the Hổn-Ngươn heaven under the guidance of Maitreya Buddha) as we have seen, is in the fourth transition. The first cycle of the Fourth Transition is overseen by Maitreya Buddha. This Buddha has been given the power to be that governor who controls all the souls and bodies in the universe. But it is in this palace where we can encounter the presence of the Supreme Being, that is, where we are closest to the Supreme Being.

     

    When I explained about the Ngọc Hư Cung (Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law) and the Linh Tiêu Điện (The Court of God), I showed you how the Supreme Being, that Great and Merciful Father, in coming to the Ngọc Hư Cung, was only a superior king and not the Great and Merciful Father. At the Hổn-Ngươn Heaven He comes with the form and the name of the Great and Merciful Father, we see this with the Jewish peoples. When they perfect their law and pass away, they return to this heaven to see the Supreme Being appear as Jehovah and he teaches them. Here he speaks of Himself as being of the same race as they are. I am sure that all souls dream about the happiness of this place.

     

    For example if we are Chinese, and we attain the Dao and return to this heaven we will see our Great and Merciful Father in the image of Hồng Quân Lão Tổ (The Primordial Ancestor, A metamorphosis of the Jade Emperor / the Supreme Being).

     

    The Indians, depending upon their situation and the result of their actions will see their Great and Merciful Father in the image of Brahma, Shiva or Krishna.

     

    Indeed, this realm is the realm of all souls united with the Supreme Being. This is the realm of the True Dharma of the Caodaist Religion, put on this earthly world for humans to access. We have seen in this realm that the Supreme Being has allowed the soul who obtains the Dao to pass, and even those who have not. For all are able to return and unite with the Supreme Being. And He Himself comes there to teach us. He Himself comes in order to live with his children during each teaching session. He gives of his knowledge endlessly and bountifully and without a second thought. His Holiness Nguyệt Tâm Chơn Nhơn (i.e. religious name of Victor Hugo when dwelling in the White Cloud Lodge), that is (Đức Chưởng Đạo / the head of the Society of Foreign Missions) has said,

    The Father gives to His children vitality

    The Master bestows His own divinity

    If we would also like to see this phenomenon, it will happen when we come to the Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên. It is the realm where we can see this happiness.

     

    Again the Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên realm is essential one. It is a place of coming together for the sublime beings and the intellectual souls from the level of immortals through to Buddhas. They all gather here. They stay here in order to cultivate their great work (their accomplishments). All beings in the universe, whether they are destroyed or transformed, it will depend on this realm where they can hold the True Dharma and decide (if they are to be transformed or destroyed). This realm is especially that place where it is decided when the Dragon Flower Assembly for all beings in the universe will take place. Therefore, when we return to this realm we see the souls contemplating in silence. They cannot be distracted, for they consciously invoke the name of the Supreme Being.

     

    Living within the Supreme Being allows all images to unite completely with the Supreme Being. It is no wonder that the teachings of Buddhism have said; if we have an external appearance and transform ourselves, whenever we are able to return, then that is the day we have attained the Dharma, the Way.   

     

    And we come to that part of the Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên, which is called the Cung Định, Cung Pháp [Palace of Destiny/Palace of the Dharma]. But why is it called the Cung Định, Cung Pháp? It is because this realm assists all the souls to become united with the Supreme Being.

     

    The image and the name of the Supreme Being as we have seen is where the Great Immortals reside there on their thrones. So this is the Cung Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên.

     

    In the next sermon I will guide the children of the Supreme Being to the Bạch Ngọc Kinh (White Jade Palace). What is this place? It is the image of the Bát Quái Đài (the Eight Trigrams Palace) that we can see on this planet earth.

      

    Bạch Ngọc Kinh – Divine White Jade Palace.

     

    Bát Quái Đài - the Council of the Great Spirits which heads the Eight States of Soul, the Eight-sided Palace of God's presence, the Eight Trigrams Palace.

     

    Chưởng Đạo – the head of the Society of Foreign Missions. This is His Holiness Nguyệt Tâm Chơn Nhơn (Victor Hugo). He was appointed to this position by the Supreme Being.

     

    Hư Vô Cao Thiên - The Heaven of the Highest Void, this is under the Bodhisattva Từ Hàng.

     

    Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên -  the Hổn-Ngươn Heaven under the guidance of Maitreya Buddha.

     

    Hồng Quân Lão Tổ - The Primordial Ancestor  , A metamorphosis of the Jade Emperor /  the Supreme  Being .

     

    Linh Tiêu Điện – The Court of God. The palace where the Supreme Being holds meetings with the Heavenly Council.

     

    Ngọc Hư Cung - belongs to the Hư Vô Heaven. This is the Heavenly Council of the Eternal Law which controls and keeps the Divine Law. It also controls the progress and movement of the universe. Divine Jade Palace.

     

    Nguyệt Tâm Chơn Nhơn -  religious name of Victor Hugo when dwelling in the White Cloud Lodge. 

     

    Phi Tưởng Diệu Thiên  - the Phi Tưởng heaven which is also the 8th of the 9 heavens. What does this “Phi Tưởng Diệu Thiên” stand for? It is a very mysterious heaven .

     

    Tạo-Hoá Huyền Thiên -  The Tạo Hóa Heaven – or the Heaven of Creation under the Mother Goddess or Celestial Sphere of Creation, this heaven is the palace of the Mother Buddha.

    Lôi Âm Temple Where Amitabha Buddha Reigns

    Today I will continue to speak about our desire to progress along the Path to Eternal Life.

     

    I would like to ask all of you to pay special attention to today’s sermon because today there is an element of (Bí Pháp) secret Dharma for obtaining the Way in today’s talk. This is why you should pay special attention while concentrating all your beliefs in the form of the Supreme Being. This will help you reach for and understand the mechanism of liberation. This is all we really wish for when we cultivate the Dao. The essential thing is that when we cultivate the Dao we obtain a definite mechanism of liberation.

     

    Last time I guided the spirits of the children of the Supreme Being to enter the Paradise of Extreme Happiness and we especially observed it and so now know well the Great Pyramid.

     

    Tonight I invite all of you to enter the Lôi Âm Tự (Temple of Thunder) as I did when I reported to Amitabha Buddha. Because Amitabha Buddha handed over his power to Maitreya Buddha to be the Chief of the Universe, Maitreya Buddha now resides at the Kim Tự Tháp (Pyramid) and Amitabha Buddha has returned to the Lôi Âm Tự. When we approach this place it is as if we are concentrating on a study of Buddhism from the beginning of heaven and earth until the present moment.

     

    All of the philosophy which remains on this planet is here because human beings do not practise the Way. This is why they do not obtain the Way. There is nothing secret about this at all. The mechanism of liberation in Buddhism has been on this planet from its inception and is still here now. Buddhism has been the most ancient of all the traditions. It is the mother religion of all the other religions. When we enter here, I both see and hear the preaching of Amitabha Buddha. In this place, the most ancient part of Buddhism is practised.

     

    When I approach the Lôi Âm Tự immediately after my entry I hear the ringing of bells. In the vibration of these bells there is a sound that tells me I should get into my dharma vehicle which is the mysterious conveyance of cloud used when one needs to go to the White Jade Palace. On both sides of my vehicle there are two female celestial handmaidens. Well, one of these is a handmaiden the other is an infant prodigy, and these two direct the vehicle, speeding it along. I see that they are hurrying me into the vehicle so that we can leave quickly.

     

    One day when you enter the Meditation Hall, and have the time available, I will explain to you the physiognomy and image of this vehicle when it is moving and travelling along the Divine Path to Eternal Life. Now I have passed the Cung Hổn-Ngươn Thượng Thiên (Hổn-Ngươn Heaven). This is a place where Maitreya Buddha gathered the Dharma and where He changed His position.

     

    I have explained that in our minds this subject is still vague and we do not know why – why is the Holy Mother a mother, and why is she under the power of her child who is Maitreya Buddha? I feel displeased. Yet, immediately after this I saw the physiognomy of the Holy Mother standing in front of me. And Maitreya Buddha was behind her kneeling with his two hands at his forehead in order to show me that although this son has a powerful role, whatever his rights and prerogatives might be, the rights of His Mother are still hers and cannot be surpassed. So, the Maitreya Buddha only obeys the order of the Holy Mother, in this way he governs the world. Through all these scenes, I remained moving on this Dharma Vehicle travelling perpetually on the Path to Eternal Life. It is an experience that I can barely put into words.

     

    Firstly, we see that in the distance there are bright lights, much like the sun in the morning. In the far horizon we see a light that illuminates the view; it is like the luminosity of a halo of vital energy. When my dharma vehicle arrives in this place, a nimbus comes to illuminate that vehicle, much like the light of a lighthouse on our planet. This nimbus illuminated my whole body and within appeared a very strange mist. The more the Dharma vehicle moved the more the happiness within me increased. Sitting on this dharma vehicle I felt like I was in a coma and I did not know where I was, the happiness at this point remained indescribable. It cannot be put into words.

     

    When we come closer in, we can see a very strange object. It is a magnificent palace. The colour of this palace is brilliant, and its colour keeps changing. It is then that the fluid of vitality covers it completely swirling around its form.

     

    The palace is sheer in form, but it is a living animal, it is not made by stone and brick as we make palaces here, it evolves as a living being and changes its colour constantly, limitlessly. This mysterious dharma is unable to be described, but ah, it is so outstanding when we look at it!

     

    Houses on this planet are dead animals, but this house of the White Jade Palace lives. It transforms and changes as though it is revolving. Around it the fluid of vitality surges from south to north and east to west. This block of fire and light makes it look like the sun. But the light of the sun is hot and uncomfortable. The light of the White Jade Palace is very gentle and very mysterious, it is blissful, a delight.  

     

    Palaces are dead things, so how can we say that this one is alive? It is not strange if we understand it.

     

    At the Bạch Ngọc Kinh it is the Hổn-Ngươn Khí (The Cosmic Fluid, the Supreme Ether) that transforms into the essence of our vital fluid, this is the energy we take in when we breathe and this energy (qi/khí) feeds and nourishes all the beings. The reason we live is this qi/khí. We exist because of it. Without it how can we live?

     

    Sitting on my dharma vehicle, I arrived to see countless souls circle everywhere in front of the door. When the Dharma vehicle stopped, I moved out and saw the three doors of the White Jade Palace. Here there are the Twelve Lords of Zodiac wearing the uniforms of marshals and holding in their hands the Staff of the Treasured Dharma. They bar the door against the souls out the front. I was so upset because these three doors are set apart and each door is guarded by four Lords.              

     

    When I wanted to talk, those three doors swung in, the Twelve Lords of the Zodiac also came together and stood in front of me. I asked why they refused to let the waiting souls enter? And when I asked this question they felt strange. They answered that they were commanded not to let anyone pass. When they answered this - that someone told them, I knew then that Kim Quang Sứ (Lucifer) was the one who had told them not to let souls enter the White Jade Palace. I was so upset; I shouted why don’t you let them? I turned to the souls and told them to enter. The souls then moved towards the gate, like a river breaking its banks they flowed into the White Jade Palace. When all the souls had entered, I ordered the Twelve Zodiacal Lords to also enter. It was then that I checked to see if anyone was left outside.

     

    Lastly, I shouldered the Giáng Ma Xử (Sword that Rules over Evil) to enter the White Jade Palace. This palace is divided into three parts; the middle section contains the sublime Buddhas. They are facing inwards. On the left side is the female college and on the right side is the male college. I was listening and watching the people walk about loudly. On the other side we only saw the shadow that was reflected through the wall. This wall is so strange it is clear like falling dew.

     

    At the beginning I did not pay attention, and when I went further I saw that every one had already taken their thrones. I was allowed to enter and see all of them already settled in their place. Nevertheless I was unconcerned and put the Giáng Ma Xử on my shoulder once more to move on, but I did not know where to go! It was then that I asked myself, why is it that everyone has their seat but I did not have one? After I asked this to myself, suddenly a Being was standing near me, I had not been aware of this Being before. The Being spoke to me, “your throne is over there.” It was then that I looked up and saw my throne and that was quite magnificent, but in my guts I was struck with doubt. Perhaps the being was deceiving me, and I was afraid. When I showed my fear the Being near me stressed “that throne is your throne.”

     

    From the very start of all time until now, although we may undertake 10 000 lives of suffering to create a position on the earthly world, it still does not compare to sitting on this throne. If you come into this realm you overflow with bliss. It is so extremely blissful! In my heart I was thinking, how can I go and sit on such a throne? But when I merely thought about it, it seemed as though steps appeared for me to step up and sit there. After I was able to sit on the throne, I saw that everyone had food to eat and wine to drink. It was then that I said to myself “why is it that they have things to eat, but I have none?” The moment I said that I saw in front of me a peach of immortality and a glass of immortal wine. In this realm whatever you think of, whatever you want, it is presented to you. Anything at all we think of – suddenly it is there. I think that on the earthly world even after a million lives you still could not have a luxurious, noble and blissful life like this.

     

    This is the Dragon Flower Assembly, this is the Assembly which we attend at the white Jade Palace. The Supreme Being is allowing me to see this in advance and to see the souls who reside there. This is so that one day His children will also reside there as well. I stand here as a witness so that one day I may pass this knowledge on to His children. I imagine if we reach towards the mechanism of liberation and unite with the Supreme Being we are then enjoined to reside in this place. We have reincarnated and undertake the suffering of life in order to create our position. For our suffering will return to us in an overwhelming recompense, if we see this we can easily understand that the Supreme Being never can bear to be in debt to anyone.

     

    It is so delightful for those who dare to offer to Him, it is so delightful for those who know love and know how to be His servant. He will respond in our favour when that Being becomes our servant and returns to us. Then there can be no happiness of any value on this earthly world that can equal this.

     

    Now I would like to speak about the female beings on the other side. On our side we can only see their shadows and we don’t know why a wall has been set up to prevent us from seeing them. We don’t know why, and we are so upset with the idea of a wall because we when come near, we see that the wall is like falling dew. We do not know what makes it like this, but when we put our hand in, it moves through, and when we withdraw our hand it closes up again.

     

    I am so upset, so curious and in my mind I wanted to do something so I could see the other side. Then, when I though of it, suddenly the wall drew aside and left a wide space. We then saw all the female beings on the other side. It is so blissful and you ladies will be so happy. The female side is as happy as the male side.

     

    In this realm those beings are so elegant because their dhammakaya is constantly changing and transforming in this White Jade Palace. Therefore they are so elegant; I don’t know how they could be this elegant. Therefore, you ladies if you want to be elegant, beautiful, you must cultivate the Way so you can return to this realm and you can be like this. On this world there is still no such thing as elegance.

     

    Since the time I attained the spiritual Dragon Flower Assembly I no longer wanted to live. I wanted to die in order to return to this realm. It is desirous to die because the more we live the more discomfort we suffer, so we want to die to return to this realm, but of course we can’t die.

     

    The Supreme Being dares not allow those who are not sublime to see these realms. If suddenly someone saw this I think they might go instantly insane or they might try to kill themselves so they can get back to this realm in order to enjoy this happiness. But if they succeeded in killing themselves, they could not return to this realm, rather they would have to descend to Uổng Tử Thành (the dark realm, The realm of the unjustly dead). They would stay there until they were able to overcome their karmic sins. Only once this had occurred could they start reincarnating once more. So one should always cultivate the Way of the heart and avoid impatience, especially those in the mountains (i.e Caodaists on Bà Ðen [Linh Sơn Thánh Mẫu] Mountain) who shave their heads. One cannot attain the Dao if one is in such a hurry.

     

    When I continued on inside I wanted to find out who is our Great and Merciful Father, who is this Being, this Jade Emperor, is He a person, how can I know Him? When I think about it far away I see something covered as if by a curtain. And when I moved closer I knew that He was there. This curtain conceals Him and in my mind I wanted the curtain opened so I could see Him. And when I think this then suddenly the curtain opens. It seem as though there are steps, levels which recede so far that I cannot say how. Then we see Him step out dressed in a white robe and with a distinctive white turban as we see in the minor ceremonial dress of the priests. He also wears two sashes around His waist. His beard is white and stunningly beautiful, it looks so lovely.

     

    In my heart I thought when He sat at the Linh Tiêu Điện (the Court of God) I saw Him dressed differently, perhaps they were two different people? Perhaps that was not Him? When I thought this then I saw Him step out, and, standing in the centre He looked directly at me. It seems that He was asking me to just look and when I looked up to Him, I saw the nimbus illuminate His head and His hand held a stick that was incredibly beautiful. At the end of this stick a gourd was attached. At the side of His body, He carried a bag, and He was wearing the dress of the Jade Emperor. He held His stick and this became the balance beam, He pulled the gourd and this became the tray of a set of scales. He then pulled at His bag and this became the weights of the scale. These three precious objects united and became a spiritual scale which we have seen at the Linh Tiêu Điện (meaning they are the same Being). It is no longer strange, this Being before for us is also our Great and Merciful Father constantly transforming as He creates the Universe.

     

    In this way even a flower which we may doubt is an object of a life, nevertheless if we pick it without a reason we might mistakenly pick up the life of a Buddha and it is thus very hard for us to cultivate the Dao.

     

    An animal we say is just an animal but perhaps it is a bodhisattva who is reincarnating, if we mistakenly eat it, one day it will return to the higher realms and it will sit equal with us and remind us that, in a previous life, “you, Buddha ate me,” and this memory is enough for us to get our stick and bag and go back and reincarnate. We see on this earthly world there are innumerable animals, but we don’t know, perhaps amongst one of these animals is a bodhisattva is reincarnating in order to create their lotus throne. Unfortunately we mistakenly eat them, and then it is very hard for us to attain the Dao. Therefore the Supreme Being has told us to be full-time vegetarians.

     

    After seeing Him I was still curious and I wanted to know all about the White Jade Palace because it is so vast I do not know when we can go around it and actually finish seeing it. Then I entered and reported to the Divine Master and asked His permission for me to see the whole of His palace. When I just think about it, it seems that He already knows what I am asking. So He came close to a stool (the stool was on my left near me, but I was not aware of it) up until the point where the Supreme Being knocked His stick into a Stool, that stool was transformed and became an Old Man. But I did not know his name, since that time I only called him Mr Stool. But I don’t know him at all, but he guided me everywhere around the different places of the palace. In each realm the souls are narrowed down much smaller, such as in a rockery. I went everywhere in the Bạch Ngọc Kinh (White Jade Palace), but still I was worried that I might have missed some of it. I went around so much I became tired, so very tired and yet I continued to explore it. The Universe is so vast there are no borders, but it is narrowed down smaller.

     

    When we enter the realm of the White Jade Palace, at that realm men and women alike when we returned to this realm we should not worry that there are not enough seats. This is not inadequate, if it were please call on me and I will compensate for any lack.

     

    I assure all the children of the Supreme Being there will not be a lack of seats! Or you will be dismissed; therefore there are many spare seats.

     

    While on this planet Earth one should try to cultivate the Way so you can return to that realm. And then as far as finding a place for living, renting houses or anything like that just let me take care of it!

     

    I have let you understand and you have seen that you must cultivate the Dao, but those of you who do not cultivate this Way; it is now your own decision. You cannot say later on that I did not warn you, or that you don’t know, don’t cheat, don’t gainsay me. For I have spoken in front of you all, and you are a witness to this.

     

    Now the Divine Path to Eternal Life is finished.

     

    The next time we meet I will start to preach about the Secret Dharma.

    Uổng Tử Thành - the dark realm, the realm of the iniquitous dead. It is where the souls of unjust dead are kept.
